Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Heh, crossbar challenge was apparantly not a crossbar challenge afterall, but attempts after the second goal. The presenter certainly ignored/missed that blatently and carried on to script! (around 22:40).

Spurs.tv just got trolled by CE (or is he actually trolling us?)... You just got to love this interwebs thingy :)

(On his first goal against Sheffield United)
Presenter: "Now THAT was SOME free kick!"
Eriksen: "That was a free kick, that's true."

He's such a dry bastard. A very cool character throughout that entire interview.

Loved the part where he mugged Townsend off by saying his assist (against Sunderland) was meant to be a pass to Harry Kane.
:eriksenlol:

He's been shite for a while but that's only because he's playing the central attacking midfield role. Switch him to the left and he'll be back to his usual v.good self in no time.
I don't think that's true.

I imagine (and please don't take this as a slight, purely an observation), that Poch knows more than either of us. If moving him to the left would instantly give us a top class player, I think Poch would have thought about it by now.

He could well just not be as good as was once thought.

I don't agree. He's a good/very good player when played on the left but becomes a shell of himself when played centrally. Drifting in to the centre from the left position is where he's been excellent at and its where he should play.
Yes poch is the coach but that doesn't mean he can't get it wrong once in a while(as evidenced quite a bit this season).

You move Eriksen back to the left then what happens to Chaldi, while I agree Eriksen played better when on the left you then might get other issues.

If it's as simple as moving Eriksen to the left to make him a much more effective player, Poch needs sacked tonight.

But it isn't, so he shouldn't be.

I'm no expert on tactics and players' best positions, but if he is as good as we seem to think he is, then surely he should be able to put in a decent shift wherever he plays - Eric Dier was played out of position and he managed a competent performance. Eriksen was very poor today, IMO, did absolutely nothing that I can remember, even Paulie managed a shot on target and was unlucky not to score.

Look he's best off in the central role, he simply isnt doing enough, disappearing, if Chadli, Lamela, Kane, Mason or Bentaleb have the ball he should be within 10 yards asking for it at all times, he needs to be switched on to then create something with it, and god forbid maybe create Harry some chances to ease his tireless running

I think if we dont get replacements for Chadli, Eriksen and Lamela you need them all to perform a lot like their best most of the time for us to get somewhere, they all have shown us what they can do, but its the underlying problem with this lot, you hang your hat on them to perform but they never do it consistently, if those had played 15% better throughout we would be challenging 4th, those horror games Burnley and Villa, anomymous, especially Eriksen, they need to step it up as if its the Chelsea game every week

Sure you are. Aren't you the one that said we shouldn't play him?
Apologies if I've got you confused with someone else.
Aye, it was me.

Back then though, I underestimated the work he put in, but I'm just not seeing it now. I'm all for luxury players when we've got others to compliment that, but he's striking me as the epitome of "soft Spurs" who don't like it up 'em.

Has a bit of a consistency problem this lad. He's still young though and has scored many goals for us these two years. The playmaker in him hasn't been as prominent though, but let's face it: had he been consistently as good as he is on a hot streak - he'd be off in the summer. He needs competition, just like Lamela/Chadli.

Suppose the only good thing is that his shit form over the past few months means he ain't going nowhere, not like United or Real Madrid are going to be after him any time soon.

Such a gifted player but needs to grow a pair.

For me he is a strange player because he runs a lot and statistically he has a good work rate but does he really get stuck in? Does our pressing game seem effective with him?

I feel that the problem with christian eriksen is that we are expecting him to be something he is not.He is a bit lightweight, very technical player and he works very hard but i just dont see him strong enough to play behind the striker yet. I think he would flourish under systems that give him the license to attack. This where i disagree with Poch's line up and selections our attacking players perpetually have to drop deep to collect the ball from midfield, they wouldn't be doing this if mason and bentaleb weren't so weak to impose themselves in the middle of the park.

Can't wait for Pritchard to take his place.

People seem to forget that many of Eriksens goals have come from free kicks or last minute goals. Neither point at a consistent goal threat, which he isn't. He's put in 2-3 good performances for months.

Feel he's regressed since last season.
