Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He had his moments tonight on the set pieces. As others have stated off the ball he looked lazy and uninterested. He’s refused another contract from Spurs, clearly wants to leave even with Jose here. Sounds to me like he just wants to live somewhere on the Mediterranean and soak up some sun. Hopefully we get something for him. Thanks for the memories.

Not just me wondering what the "changed the game" stuff is all about then(*)....?

(*Bit like Vs Villa.)

He was better than he has been but that’s not saying much. That being said, I thought he was poor with the ball in open play and delivered one good set piece. There were a couple of long balls which Jenas jizzed himself over but when Eriksen doesn’t have time on the ball he’s useless these days.

I would argue that bringing on a link between the defence and attack, which could’ve been him, N’dombele or GLC was the change that won us the game even if Eriksen didn’t have a terrible game. This whole he changed the game and hype over how we can get him back to his best after 60 minutes in a disgraceful 12 months is the exact reason I’ve always stated he’s overrated. Are we all instantly forgetting that he played games such as 101 minutes vs Everton where his stats all said 0 except for possession conceded at 16 or something?

I know football fans are known for being fickle though.

This ^^^ absolutely...

I can’t quite understand the debate being had among our supporters about his showing last night. Good ball in for Kane’s second but that’s about it. For all those slating Winks, Erikssen seemed to give the ball away more. Looked disinterested (yet again), sloppy, off the pace. Won a tackle for the first time in two years near the end, so what?

Undoubted talent and if Jose can get a tune out of him and he stays at Spurs, I’ll be among the first to eat humble pie.

As it stands at the moment though, he can’t get away (probably to Italy) fast enough..,

Think it is too late for him to stay and sign another contract. However I believe the team should be picked on what is best for the club. His recent performances did not justify him starting. But there were signs yesterday that he is getting over his poor form and whilst he is here it is in our best interests to play him if he is performing and it is in Eriksen's best interests to not only play but perform to improve his opportunities next season. Win/win. Having said that does Mou persist with 2 DM in which case who of the front 4 would Eriksen replace or does he continue to come on from the bench.

Someone posted about Eriksen thumping the ball straight at the opposition player 3 times in the space of 30 seconds.

Yet to Jenas, he was "Exceptional"

As I posted in the match thread, thought he did well when he came on, but that's in comparison in what he has shown in the past. If he's not going to sign, don't see the point of playing him. However assume yesterday was to get us over the line. We need to get his replacement (Gio?) up and running.

He is not gonna join Inter Milan....

Most likely is Juve or Madrid - Dark horses PSG or AM.

Personally I think it’s going to be Juve. They have made it a business to pick of these free transfers!!

Don’t understand this fuzz about him not being deliberately engaged

He played the exact same poor football for the national team in the last qualifiers and I think it’s just a matter of a collapsed form.

He is simply in his first true football/life crises - and being a creative offensive player like CE it’s just damm difficult to fix!!

Hard physical football is just not something you start doing on PL level. There are tons of players better than him doing that.... hence just plain stupid to ask for him to do that!!

I see some members believe it’s been 12 months. My take is that the lost CL final was where is started combined w his stomach injury.
Then these Completely stupid comments by CE during summer about wanting to try something new - and nobody was picking him up - took a lot of confidences out.

I do believe CE is a true professional and doubt very much he plays poor on purpose... why would he ? It’s for sure not increasing his marked value

Make what you want of it, yesterday felt like a typical Eriksen performance to me. 1st half we were terrible, I thought he looked poor. 2nd half we were good, he looked good. Although there are some outliers, Eriksen match performances (the last 15 months) tends to depend on how the rest of the team is performing.

Being a Spur's supporter, I think any move from us would be a step down, the reality is, Inter are an historic club who've gone through years of mediocrity since Mourinho left, but are moving in the right direction. They've got a great coach in Conte and with him, they seem to be giving a tough battle for the league title. The have a good squad but a player like Eriksen in the midfield could be a difference maker for them.

If we can get a fee for him in January let's take it, commit to GLC and all move on.

He played his part last night, but I think it might well just be a case of he needs to move on, sometimes players just need a change and I think that’s what applies here.
That said, if Mourinho can get him back performing again that would be a bonus, but I think it’s more likely Eriksen will move on.

You mentioned Jenas and tbf I’m finding him almost as annoying as Alan Smith

Perhaps wishful thinking but is Pochettino & José keeping on involving in the hope he has a change of heart and decades to stay!
