He’s only ever coached the very elite in Spain, Germany and England and had a shit tonne of cash in all three leagues comparable to anyone else (bar Chelsea recently). I’m not aboard the Pep is wonderful train like others are. Imagine if he turned up here and has to work with Levy!
I think he is genuinely very good, you can't win as much as he has in several different elite leagues and in very different contexts if you aren't a quality manager/coach. He has always had a big leg up everywhere he's worked though, without a doubt.

He's fantastic with his feet.

Other than that though he's really average. Because the media still measures 'keepers ability on goals conceded and clean sheets, he's always in the conversation for best goalkeeper. Basicly he's being lorded for how good City have been for not allowing the oppo to get any shots off. Now they are starting to struggle in this specific area we are seeing him being as effective as a chocolate fire guard.

He's also terrible when rushing out of his goal to sweep up the ball played behind their defence, to a point of recklessness but think he's been really lucky by not conceding pens and or getting red cards that have happened with others.

Plus there was the bombshell that he wanted to leave in the summer. Maybe he is just dialling it in and doesn’t fancy it anymore. It only takes a bit of doubt in the keeper for it to spread to the defence.

I think we have a boxing scenario here. Klopp and Guardiola have punched each other to a standstill over the last few years , (i know Woolwich last two years have been the main challenger). But Klopp now looks like Lennox Lewis got out on top , meanwhile Pep now looking like a punch drunk boxer who never knew when to get out .

Hopefully he hangs in there taking a pounding but refusing to go down , all the while tarnishing his legacy , along with the charges it could be a fun watch .

On closer inspection the scratches spell 'I fucking hate Tottenham ' in an ancient Iberian language. Bill Madrid will confirm. Bill Madrid Bill Madrid
"Iberian languages" are for reactionary Bourbon monarchists and fascists as far as Josep is concerned. His Catalan tongue sprang untainted from the sacred mountain of Montserrat, where his royalist leanings, such as they are, look to Austria and the drooling in-bred Hapsburgs who so adored his beloved patria

Not sure Fifa will be overly pleased about that. Feels like just another push in the direction of a private super league.

I understand that players want to be able to play for their country at major tournaments, and FIFA threaten to ban any players not playing under their jurisdiction. But if the world elite clubs just go about buying ALL the best players then the major tournaments become second rate and FIFA lose their golden egg.

So how many games does Pep get to lose before his job is in jeopardy?
And how many more until they are the underdogs?

My guess is :

1. 5 more.
2. 2 seasons.

EDIT: It's just occurred to me that this might be Pepe's masterstroke. Sign a new contract, talk the talk, even scratch his face a bit, showing some passion, but then simply lose every game until they sack you, get a massive payout and he avoids being relegated for the first time in his career, when they get charged in Jan.

If he's gone by Jan, I'll take my hat off to him.
