I know a few Geordies thru work. No great I'll feeling to Spurs per se. But do consider anything South as soft thu. You know the types. T shirts when it's minus 40.
Spent around 15 years watching us play there from the Newcastle seats. Can confirm that they fucking hate us. Or certainly used to. Why are Spurs regarded as a big club when we aren’t? Kind of thing.

There is definitely something of the big 6 thing. I mean we didn’t come up with it but we are 6th over the past 20 years on average and the next clubs after us average 10th or 11th so 6th with big room to spare. So we are a top 6 club by definition of the term plus we have historically won a lot more than Newcastle and have a bigger fanbase (I don’t think Geordies realise how big London and the Home Counties are population wise).

I always think of us as the weakest kid in the top set at school. You have all the kids in second set like Villa, Newcastle and Everton who aren’t good enough for the top set then you have us who are too good for the second set but very weak in the top set. Like a team too good for the championship but too weak for the prem.

That makes the likes of Newcastle and Villa hate us as they think we look down on them and on the other side Liverpool and United look down on us for not being their level. We are sort of stuck in the middle.

Maybe, I think it's like this, without wanting to get political or anything particularly controversial.

A few of the loudest voices get heard, then it becomes the so called sentiment of the masses. I see it as a contortion of the truth.

It's like Reform and the fact many people will tell you they didn't vote for them, despite the facts telling us that currently that can't be true.

My point is we either accept such thoughts and ideas, which somewhat go against logic, or some degree of basis or we challenge them. I'm a natural challenger.

I think a very small minority of Newcastle fans will view us in a granular way, whereas the high majority couldn't give a sh!t, and that tomorrow what they would prefer to see is their team winning a football match to send them on their club sabbatical in relatively good spirits, and hoping for better for next season. But if they see their team lose it won't bother them too much, and I think the fans will only be raucous if Newcastle come out with full guns blazing.

My fear is that if it's a nothing match, as in bitty and neutral, West Ham will benefit, and could nick the win.

You cannot put Newcastle in the same bracket as Everton and Villa - compare what the 3 clubs have won in the last 70 years and Newcastle are miles off. In fact, they’ve been outperformed by Wigan, Portsmouth and Palace. They’ve achieved as much as Luton, Birmingham and Swansea.

They’ve are a guffy little provincial side with a chip on their shoulders.

That said, hopefully they win tomorrow

I think their Abramovich-lite era in the mid-late 90s (that ultimately failed but meme'd with 'kevin keegan love it') probably gives fans under the age of about 37 the false idea that they were a Liverpool level team

Their rivalry with Sunderland is a big deal & the fans would like to finish ahead of them so the game will be taken very seriously

I was looking at a nufc forum earlier for their general feeling on today's game.

Not a single mention of finishing above Sunderland.

Lots of "I hate those cockney cunts for stopping us becoming everything we could have been".

I half remember Levy and others getting involved in the whole thing. Geordies clearly think other clubs should have rolled out the red carpet and fluttered our arse cheeks.

Seems to me their fans generally hate Tottenham and us going down would be much more enjoyable to them, than finishing above Sunderland.

That's probably partially correct for a small number but again so what? That's in thr silence of bedrooms or wherever and being led by the vociferous and opinionated.

I suspect finishing above of Sunderand will matter to a few but mostly once the passion takes over you cheer for your team. That simple.

What happens today however is all about the players and their motivation. In Guimares and Tonali, and Joelinton if he plays and on their home turf the odds are in Newvastle but we shall see. Quality usually prevails and it's the last home game. That matters.

So what? - agreed. I couldn't care less tbh. Was just commenting on a post about the vibe among their fans.

It's mad the amount of hate Tottenham get from every angle.

Yeah we had Levy and got that damn Spursy tag, had Harry Kane and won nothing, been a total joke club for 2 or 3 seasons etc.

But fuck me, we ain't a nasty club like the cringe kings down the road, or like Chavs, Liverpool, United, City...they've all done criminal/immoral/unethical stuff, hold the PL by the balls, get all the decisions year in year out, had terrible PR nightmares, their fans behaving badly, clowns like AFTV & other more mainstream media kissing their ass on the daily...and yet you don't hear the likes of Newcastle or Leeds or even Leicester fans hating on them like they do us.

Because we’re seen as the weakest of the bunch - which to be fair we are. The super league really put noses out of joint - the likes of Everton and Villa think they should be ahead of us and the delusions of West Ham and West Ham of the north (Newcastle) think likewise.

If we stay up then you will have fans frothing at the mouth about us “not being allowed to be relegated” despite the horrendous decisions against this season

That’s it I think, Shearer, Robson and Asprilla and they thought they were going to be a powerhouse. We took a few hidings up there.

But even in that period we were still winning the league cup despite being terrible and a solitary league cup win is still all they’ve won for 70 years .

Fair points, my brother.

Wait til we play uber sexy footy next season, climb up the league table and they all come kiss our ass like they did under Poch. They think we'll forget and lap it up...we friggin won't, they'll all pay.

Pikeys will be struggling in the Champo, Geordies will lose more Saudi backing and fight vs relegation, and Villa will get done for financial misconduct. Everton will go back to being the league's punching bag soon enough.

I haven't seen any magpies today, I normally see at least three daily.
Not a good sign.
