So what is the value of a player on £300k pw (£15m pa) on an 8 year salary when he's not someone you want to pay more than £150k pw tops ? Assuming player doesn't want to take a hit on salary (he's happy to spend 8 years on bench as he never needs to work again), then you need to pay off £15m pa for 8 years (£120m) and factor in you will only pay half ....... so payoff £60m before you get close to a transfer fee you get.

So many deal Chelsea might end up with £0 - £50m per player in fees actually received !?

hell of a gamble that move, spend huge in expectation of champions league qualification and possible somekind of cup final appearance, probably the CL final itself with the expenduture since boehly rolled in.
they wont even get conference league money

One feels the need to ask the question why they felt the need to "rebuild" a team that won the CL so recently and challenged on all fronts last year. They really only needed to sort the CBs out and get a striker that wasn't Lukaku and they didn't do either.
