They have been a basket case for many years now. Incredibly badly run, bad decision making, expensive transfer flops. Like an awful lot of the PL clubs. If they can get the right manager then you may be right but it will be short lived.

I think identifying a good set of decisions has become maybe too binary.

Success as in trophies is the metric of some.

I measure it for us at least as being competitive and in the mix for trophies, whilst seeing clear player development.

And yes, I thonk it's getting harder at the biggest clubs because it's nearly an impossible demand.

Their squad was always more suited to a back 4 manager so they'll probably be a bit better now, although they're still a mess.

Suddenly selling Garnacho looks a lot worse as I don't think they've really got any natural left wingers except Dorgu, who is more of a left back anyway? And how are they gonna get 2 of Cunha, Bruno and Mount on the pitch at the same time in a coherent system?

They should've just listened to Ashworth and not brought in an fanatical back 3 manager. Exact same mistake we made with Conte but without even getting top 4 out of it.

When Fergie left it became apparent that, bar a few superstars, a lot of the squad he was so successful with were over-achieving because Fergie made them good players. Since then it has been mind-boggling that the richest, most well supported club in the country spent so much on so many average players. Sure, we used to do similar - but often found maybe 1 in 3 that turned into top level stars. Man Utd almost always buy 'mid' level players for silly money.

The PL, as a whole, is eating itself. A worsening product caused by too much money giving the supposed ability to fix things quickly rather than getting it right long term. Clubs in Europe are far better run, actually helped by being able to use the PL as a massive inflated cash cow.

The increasing money is just being wanked on driving up prices on mediocre players, wages and agent fees.

It’s supposed to be incredibly difficult to make the grade to be a professional footballer so I’m beyond bewildered at how many wank players there are.

It's not funny because Ubited will now improve.
they've failed to get anywhere near where they were when Fergie left. That's 15 years (?) of underwhelming managerial appointments.

Looks like theyve fired him for what he said after Leeds. Which means they have no plan - their plan was to keep him long term, however long it too.

They're in absolute chaos.

Last season was the time to fire him - in 15th spot. Now they're equal 5th, 3pts off CL spot.

What now? Caretaker mgr till the end of the season and half the team thinking I'm gonna be sold when the next guy comes in?

Looks like they're unmanageable

Funny thing is they've done it now he's finally got them in the top 6. They were happy finishing 16th and being lower table.

Weirdos

They are unmanageable. For a number of reasons it's very hard to make that club work, now and in the future.

The saddest part is we share a lot of those issues (not all, we have some unique ones as do they) and as a result also fund ourselves to be unmanageable
