We lost a CL final in Spain to Liverpool. We can't lose a EL final in Spain to United. We. Just. Can't.
Fan belief/mentality definitely plays a part and transcends onto the pitch and the players.
Obviously I'm not just talking about here, I'm talking about the collective mentality of the fanbase...we've seen this story all too often.

I agree at the stadium it's a tangible thing it's called the 12th man for a reason.

Saying that, I do understand why people are cautious with their comments - we should win this Europa easily...we can easily beat Manchester United if we face in them in a final but we also have to realise they scumbag wins so we have to slap these Mancunians back to their dusty old stadium trophyless...
I don't mind people being cautious, it's the self fulfilling prophecy of guaranteeing a loss before a ball is even kicked, it's forced and unnecessary as if we're never going to win a trophy again.
Last year's Europa League finalists had been on a trophy drought far longer than we had been, they both broke their curses last season...Newcastle broke their 70 year curse this season yet somehow our own fans think we're always gonna lose, terrible mentality
And as I said, Utd gave Villareal their first ever trophy in the last European final they played in but again yeah let's ignore that because it doesn't suit the narrative lol
