Lo Celso was a ball carrier anyway, we've signed a load of them - too many in fact which is half of what our problem is.
We've signed so many 8's we have tried to shoehorn them into 6's and forgot that we actually need 6's and passers.

Belittling Gray and Bergvall and bigging up a worse player is a strange thing to do.

They’re both highly limited. Limited players can go on streaks and score goals but it doesn’t make them good.
Gallagher is just legs. In his career he might have a few runs where he has a goalscoring purple patch but his fundamentals are so fucking average.
Unlikely to shine because he's stone useless, average on the ball and just has a bigger engine than most, which people confuse with leadership. Was an awful signing at the time, and somehow, to his credit, he's worse than expected.
The American way
He runs about a lot and is a busy cunt yet, once again, we're crying out for a passer in the middle and just have an ocean of 8s.
Sarr could've easily done what Gallagher did today in that busy CAM role, yet not a single one of our CMs can spot or complete a 10 yard forward pass.
We would've been much smarter to try and get Hackney out of Middlesbrough for 30m. Sometimes you gotta look past 'market opportunity' and just get a fucking guy that can actually do what the squad needs.

Bergvall is the only one we have in that mould with anything spicy to offer. The rest are so basic it hurts.
Yeah if Frank had the balls to actually play him in his preferred position I think we're a couple of places higher in the table. There's a reason he was our player of the season last year but Frank was too much of a coward to even play him as an 8.
He may turn out to be useless. Brings him level with the rest of the squad. But even if that’s the case, we’ll get money when we sell him because there’s always a market for players who put the effort in.
And it’s that effort that elevates him above the majority of our squad, who appear to think they’re on some kind of holiday.
Signing a Jimmy try hard to be one of your 4 top earners on 5.5 years is sheer stupidity.
I think he’ll do alright. Guess we have to wait and see.
Problem is it's pointless putting the effort in if you don't have the quality to back it, all well and good chasing the ball and pressing and running around but if you're not available for a pass or unable to play through midfield or you're constantly giving the ball away then what net value are you actually adding?

Honestly, I’m basing my opinion on his time at Palace and latterly at Chelsea. Can’t recall seeing him play for Madrid and certainly not basing his ability on a few games after joining our exploding clown car of a club.
You may be right. He may turn out to be a waste of time. But I’ve got hope he won’t be. One of very few hopes I have right now that are associated with us.
