Player Conor Gallagher

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What is this guy good at?

Honestly, I have watched him playing for us but seems useless, only remember one good cross may be we scored. His defending, passing or dribbling is p!ss poor.

But cheap and cheerfull as they say. £35m what do you expect. FFS £200k weekly wages 4th highest paid player in the squad is bonkers.

Seems the purchase make sense now with the championship in mind, forward planning.

Isn't that just what run around a lot players cost nowadays? Whole game is nuts financially.
I don't think letting this out the bag does anything for morale or bringing the club together. Now the fans know a hell of a lot more is going to be expected of him (rightly so) and they'll jump on his back fast. Add to that the other players we do actually have that are better players than him will be thinking wtf. Stinks of them trying to shift the pressure off of themselves again.

The £35m signing of Gallagher from Atlético Madrid on wages of about £200,000 a week is regarded as a significant turning point inside the club. The midfielder is their highest-paid player and more big signings are expected after the end of the season assuming Tottenham stay in the Premier League.
Gallagher on 200k isn't what gets me about this quote.

It's that signing a player like Gallagher for 35M on 200k is "regarded as a significant turning point".

Whatever you may think about Gallagher, that simply isn't true and reflects club leadership that just seems to not have a clue what they're up against.

Breaking the wage structure for Conor Gallagher dooms us to become the next Everton. And as we won’t be able to attract CL quality talent, this will continue and see us overpay for mediocre talent until we have an entire squad full of Xavi’s and Gallaghers. Overpaid lemons who will never win anything.

Even if we do not go down this year, we will in the not so distant future. This club is being run into the fucking ground by absolute fools.

I hear we don't pay the wages... Then I hear figures like this.

If you have a basic £5million then add bonuses, then add sponsorships and everything else, what the fuck else do you need?
We haven't paid big wages before, as a whole. Him and Xavi are higher earners, so it feels like they are, at the very least, willing to increase the wages.

But spending it on players like Conor Gallagher.... Wow. Means any really good player we want is going to want at 250-300 now if bang average players are getting that.

Yeh well if I’m Romero and this guy comes in on way more than me, I’d be saying who’s the captain and World Cup winner.

It’s a horrendous precedent to set.
