Match Coventry City v Tottenham Hotspur | Carabao Cup 3rd Round | Sept 18th | 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He wasn't half bad, but when it was 1 - 1 I was thinking 'bring on anybody but Fraser'. Just take the gloves yourself if you have to, Ange, but please not another shoot-out with Fraser falling to the floor like King Kong after a Mickey Finn.

And when he rolled the ball straight to one of their players.

He's a liability.
We all know the league cup is considered rubbish by the vast number of fans but it is still a cup,is it really a game where we should be throwing on youngsters who are unproven and inexperienced. They need experienced players who can compete . I felt so sorry for Johnson, ease up on the criticism all you keyboard warriors, don't destroy him ,our supporters are better than that

You must accept they have done it as owners appreciably faster than ENIC , can it be maintained is the big question . They have also done it from a far worse position in faster time

Because they want to do it

The performance is the type of shite you can get when make 8 changes and throw in a bunch of reserves and kids, away to a plucky underdog.

I think Ange is working with some absolute dog shit offensive/creative players and clearly some of the players we've brought in are not going to move the fucking needle.

I'm just not seeing where Grey is going to excel? He's not a FB, is he a 6, an 8 ? I can see he has some solid attributes, but It's really hard to see him turning into an outstanding player. Either way, I don't see a position where Grey becomes a starter anytime soon.

It took bentancur 85 minutes to get a rocket up his fucking arse, push on and press - with the help of Maddison - and win a ball. When he finally did it, it was great and set up Johnson who took his chance really well. But fuck me, where was that urgency and aggression for 85 minutes? Plod plod plod.

Even Udogie is starting to annoy me. Guy just never produces anything in forward areas. His touch and passing can get really sloppy at times and he'd never have got himself where Spence did to score that goal, or come up with the deft finish.

Some of Ange's subs (and this is a running theme) are fucking bonkers and make no sense at all, in fact they seem counter intuitive. The Son/Solanke Maddison/Bergval subs made very little sense, surely it should have been Werner and Sarr off? He then tactical corrects that sub 10 minutes later with the Kulu/Werner sub, pushing Son out left and having Kulu as the F9. Such a convoluted way of doing things.

Maddison, was the biggest difference, he started demanding the ball - where previously we had no one prepared to get on it and try to take any risk, it was him zipping a quick, vertical zipped pass that started the first goal, Kulusevski was a bit fortunate that his through ball went through legs but if he meant it then it was good but still left Spence with plenty to do, and Spence shows great determination and a deft finish. And it was Maddison pressing with Bentancur that set up Johnson, who finished really smartly.
Werner sub only happened cos he was injured. So who knows if Ange would have made another sub with less than 10 to go. Think he got lucky as for some reason he didn’t want to take Werner off. God he was awful but Ange wanted him twice. Reap what you sow. Hopefully that is the end of for a while Moore can get some game time. Can we rip up his contract? It’s hot be one of the worst decisions ever on a financial pov. We pay all his wages and if we can’t cut short the loan then even worse. Surely levy wouldn’t have been that made to give the go ahead?

Very good point. I'd forgotten that that was a forced sub. So yeah, reinforces my point about the weirdness of his subs.

TFC is a weird place.

In the league we thoroughly outplay Leicester, Everton, Newcastle and arsewipes but fail to take our chances so results have been poor. TFC suffers reactor meltdown.

In the cup we were thoroughly outplayed by Coventry but took our chances and stole a win, not dissimilar to Leicester, Newcastle and arsewipes against us. TFC suffers reactor meltdown.

This place feels really surreal sometimes.

We didn't outplay any of them mate lol them letting us have the ball is not us out playing them.

We were hanging on for about half an hour at Leicester.

This is twisting the reality to suit an agenda. I’ve got a couple of friends who are arsewipe supporters who thought Woolwich committed daylight robbery on us. They both said the game was difficult to watch due to the Spurs dominance and basically they chewed through a few finger nails.

I reckon the average independent viewer would take a similar view of all the league games.

We never once looked threatening. I can't think of Raya having to pull off any decent saves?

Woolwich came and sat in a low block and hit us on the counter, basically how conte used to set up. It wasn't easy watching for us either when Conte had us set up that way.

We 100% did not dominate them.

I’m reacting to people calling Ange a fat fuck, being racist, being unfairly harsh and targeting specific players (players like Johnson who are JUST PLAYING THE SYSTEM AS THE COACH INTENDS), knee jerk reacting and being very vocal about whenever we lose and then crickets when we win, members of the forum who seem genuinely gutted when we win and their narrative that we’re shit and hopeless and everyone’s a loser (apart from themselves of course which is ironic they fail to realize that is the source of their irrational derision) falls apart, and ultimately adult man babies who have the emotional control of some of the teenagers I teach on a regular basis and make this forum a very unpleasant place.

I’m sorry that some of you lack purpose and love in your life but getting on here or Twitter and getting very personal and hurling insults at club representatives is not the answer.

There used to be wit on this forum and good natured banter, it has changed now and I think I’ve had enough.

Ange has a philosophy of how to play football and he has said several times he will not compromise on it. I’m personally sick of the manager round about and want to give Ange time, for good or bad. Crying like a child whenever things aren’t going your way and throwing the toys out the pram doesn’t benefit anyone, in fact it creates an aura of negativity around the club which opposing fans feed off of and players react negatively to (see poor Brennan yesterday.

There are too many broken people taking their anger with the world out on a football club and it’s not benefiting anyone.

You won’t find a single post from me being overly critical, let alone being abusive of Ange, Brennan or anyone else in our squad.
If there is a small group of posters who write offensive, racist or abusive comments then that is unquestionably wrong, but you seem to include anyone else who was critical of how we are being managed, how the team is performing as being in that group. So much so that you think the forum should be shut down.

You and I are probably not that different In outlook. I have often been labelled as a happy clappy fan, but the difference between us is that atm I can see why many fans are extraordinarily angry about last night’s performance because It wasnt a one off, it’s a worrying pattern that the late goals only masked over. Just because some fans are irate that doesn’t equates to them being disappointed with the win. That would be ridiculous.

Getting back to the match and Ange’s approach to it. What do you really think about him selecting Forster in goal?? I think it was a horrible decision. If Forster needed game time then play him against Qarabag, at least in that competition we have 8 games to qualify. Against Coventry we only had 90min and then the prospect of penalties, so it should have been a no brainer to play your best keeper….unless the manager isn’t bothered with the league cup or too stubborn. Do you have a different reading of the situation? Are you not troubled by this apparent lack of concern of being knocked out by Coventry?

If the back up keeper isn't good enough to play in the least important of the 4 competitions for the season against a lower league opponent, then what's he there for? What if Vicario is injured and Forster needs to play week in week out in all competitions?

Forster and this game really encapsultes just how big the gulf is between the starting eleven and the rest of the squad.
