Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I hope he is sold in the summer.

Doing one or two things we'll does not compensate for often seen inadequacies.

One marker to praise in my opinion, and that is consistently good performances.

Romero is a million miles away from that as far I see it, especially this season..
Less than six months ago someone on this forum said he was a better defender than Ledley King. Ledley is fourty-four this year so yeah he may be...but I bet it's still close. 😆

Probably better to get good money in the summer. De risked with Danso now also

Has great passing ability and is a real goal threat. Look, if he could stay fit and give a fuck it would be great to keep him. But can he ?

I’ve heard a rumour he uses the term “club break” to refer to the downtime between international matches. Looks puzzled when he hears the phrase “international break”

Or…. And it’s a crazy idea I know, we keep Romero, VDV and Danso because we finally have a decent CB rotation to play the way we are building this squad to play.

Fuck it, even keep Dragusin as well and see how he develops in a 4 CB rotation where we aren’t left short every season.

Thats the only right answer.

Selling Romero would be the club admitting he's too ambitious for us and thats an awful admission!

Yeah. If his heart is in it then I agree

Danso
VdV
Romero
Dragusin
Vuskovic
Davies
Spence
Gray

No, it'd be the club admitting that Romero doesn't actually care about Spurs enough to bother playing for us regularly.
Yeah. It takes two to tango and all that.

The club may not match Romero's "ambitions". But Romero's lack of availability may straight up play into that and make it worth selling him.

Both of these can be true and not necessarily invalidate the other.

Those 4 plus Gray is a must if we want to be better. No point getting a player like Danso and offloading Romero. That’s just stupidity.
We’ve also got Vuskovic coming in too.

He’s not a bum. Don’t be daft.

I get people are frustrated with him but let’s not be silly. He’s a good player when fit and motivated.
In my opinion Romero should have to earn the right to play for Spurs going forward.

He's treated us with contempt at times.

His red card under Conte, on the half way line, during a Champions League game we were still in at that point, was the turning point for me.

Romero has quality but he also has an error, suspect decision making and is poor in the air defensively.

He also doesn't play enough for various reasons.

If Spurs want to be better we need players who want to play for us first and foremost. To be consistent Spurs also need players to be available.

Bentancur aside; most of Spurs South American signings have been underwhelming, for one reason or another, for a while now.

VDV is more important than Romero to this team.

good to have him back, hopefully if he is feeling this is his last run here then he is also really up for these Europa knockouts, to win something before he goes.
Think he and Danso would be a brick wall at the back

I was with you until keeping Dragusin...

If it looks like a pony, and plays like a pony, it's pony.

We definitely need a 4th CB... preferably, English/HG... one who doesn't count against our international players allotment.

Archie Gray may fit that role, but I'd love to see how he could develop as a DCM/#6.

Romero
VDV
Danso

Then depending on one's preferences:

Davies
Dragusin
Vuskovic
Phillips
Dorrington.

.....We don't need to be buying even MORE CBs (unless we cash in on Romero).
