Soz...... I misread your post.

Bigger concern for me with Romeo is availability...... Also why I struggle with the idea of people paying big money for him.

That's a whole fuck-tonne of red lines..... I crunched the numbers a while back...... 100 EPL apps / 152 in 4 seasons....... 65%...... Even less when you factor in cup games too.

Just whispered in maguires ear, " unlucky you ugly looking donkey " :romeroshock:

Who replied indignantly, ‘Im not unlucky’!

I can understand why someone (Messi), who only plays with him in games that are "important" such as International qualifiers or knockout tournament games, would think that he's the best centre back in the world.

He lives for these games. Maybe there's a motivation or focus issue in the "smaller" league games. But this run, in this competition, he's been astounding.
Its never sat easy that there are bigger or smaller games...
Easier and harder, perhaps...
But a so called "Bigger game" like a Quarter/Semi or Final is nothing if you get dumped out in the "smaller" early round games... Surely they all count?

We very NEARLY got put out of the FA Cup by 'little' Tamworth in a 3rd round "smaller game"...
But you can bet the reaction would've been MASSIVE had we actually gone out of the cup that day!

I wouldnt hang my hat on Romero ever performing consistently for Spurs

He was amazing in Bilbao but we haven't seen enough of that since he arrived at the club

If you watch the first minute of the Europa League final you'll see in a nutshell what Romero is (dodgy discipline and decision making) very lucky to not be booked for a rash challenge i think it was on Hoijlund clattered into him.

All too many times before have we seen his discipline called into question and he only turns up when he can be bothered.

World cup winner, Serie A defender of the year before he signed for us and now a Europa league winner i say cash in on him while we can because he'll down tools on us at any given time.

Nonsense.

No it’s good sense. His priority is, and always has been, Argentina . World Cup in the summer . A chance for Argentina to retain the World Cup which only Brazil has done before. Before the last World Cup he might as well have been anywhere but Spurs because he just wasn’t interested. Always injured but never for Argentina.
We don’t need him with his head somewhere else. Anywhere near 60m I would take it.

It's world cup next season, would you put your house on him being available and giving his all for us after say February next season?! He is a cracking player, probably our only world class player on his day we have left, but is too often unavailable and not motivated / focused as he should be.
One of those players that if he was playing for a real top side and playing in knock out games in CL he would be lauded by press and fans as he would perform like he did in Bilbao.
It's a shame we couldn't regularly give him the big games often enough to show how good he is

And so would i take that kind of offer for him and move onwards and upwards without all the Argie Bargie :romeroshock:
