Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Please stop lying.

In the league we're winning at a higher rate without Romero than with him. Just look at the numbers from this PL season. If Romero didn't play, we would be out of trouble, given that our win % has been so much higher this season without him.
I just went back and looked at this manually - Romero has started 5 of our 7 wins in the league this year. He’s started 20/27 matches so a 25% win rate. Without him that means we have 2 wins in 7 which is a whopping 28% win rate.

Given you are claiming the poster not understanding sample sizes later, you would think that comparing these two would be dishonest. At any rate, there is nothing to suggest we would be in the clear without him.

Edit: And to further prove you are spouting a bunch of shit, Romero started all 5 of our wins in the Champions League and his only blemish was at PSG. Without him, we went winless in two matches. So that’s 10 wins in 26 starts for a 38% win rate while without him it’s 2 wins in 9 for a 22% win rate.

You can't avoid the temptation of mixing the competitions just to make Romero's numbers look better. We're shit in the league and risking relegation. To prove that it has nothing to do with Romero, you include stats from a completely different competition.

To top it off you say that I'm the one "spouting a bunch of shit".

This is hilarious. You bunch are so desperate that you can't even think straight anymore.

I gave both the league numbers and Champions League numbers separate that prove you’re completely full of shit. You know, the premier competition in club football?

There's really very little point with this guy. Pretty much all his posts are just deranged anti-Romero rants. There's very little he has to say about anything else Spurs related. 🤷‍♂️

I am not usually one to claim dissenters are not Spurs fans but this guy genuinely seems like he ain’t one.

Not sure I’ve seen him contribute in any other thread apart from match days to complain about Romero.

Irrelevant analysis. Doesn't prove anything. Proves even less when you mix competitions just to prove your case.

What you're comparing is win ratios in the PL vs CL. And somehow you seem to come to the conclusion that if we win more in the CL, it's because of Romero... And that it makes up for the lower win rate in the league when R is IN the team.

Unbelievable! The lengths some people are ready to go to make their hero look decent.

If not for this clown of a captain, we would have more wins. More points. His mistakes this season have been endless.

Lots of people think he makes up for his mistakes by scoring goals. But we've showed it does not. His net contribution is actually still negative in the games that he does score.

If you think he's so fucking good, explain how we're relegation candidates when he's playing.

He's so shit, we now have to hope for teams to beat the likes of West Ham, Burnley, Forest and Leeds. Embarrassing.

This is the problem. Ok it’s a red card but then so are so many other exact same tackles that don’t get given. There is no question if you have a rep you get ref’d differently.

This is what I’ve been banging on about with Romero - he is treated unfairly because of both his reputation and the way he treats (communicates) with referees as a captain they probably despise him and happy to pull out a red card.

I made no mention of good or bad, I simply pulled the exact numbers out and all you’ve done is type a load of nonsense.

If you include the past two seasons in the PL only, we have won 11/38 (29%) games he’s started and 7/28 (28%) games he’s not been apart of.

It’s pretty obvious we’re just a shit football club over the last two years. This idea that we’re somehow better without him is false because we are clearly significantly better in Europe with him and essentially the same in the league - across two full seasons.

Refs don't ref the game any more, they ref individual players and individual teams.

The odds are so stacked against some teams. The difference between winning and losing is often just tiny micro decisions that don't look suspicious, but have a massive effect on the outcome if the game.

Pundits and commentators are also biased as anything

The game is never played on a level playing field.

In the same way that the refs were all helping Leicester in their fairytale season, it feels like the refs are all actively helping to keep us down into relegation in our nightmare season.

It'll be interesting to see the refs performance tomorrow as the decisions will go much more in Fulham's favour than ours.

Romero is the only world class player currently in our squad. The lack of respect he gets from some fans, and the lack of protection he gets from the club hierarchy, is exactly why he'll move on to bigger and better things in the summer.

If you go back to 23/24 when this iteration of Spurs began the premier league win ratio with Romero involved skyrockets.

And whatever you do don't mention Romero's Europa League win/loss ratio. Because it doesn't count if he's literally MOM in our biggest victory for 40 years. Or something... :D

Without Romero, we would 💯 lost that game.

Without Romero and Van de Ven we wouldn't have even made the final. That's why they barely played in the league from March onwards.

It's so blindingly obvious how important these two players are to this iteration of Spurs.

Also it's a big part of our problem that they are so important. We just don't have enough genuinely "good" players.

Thing is, they aren’t meant to ref different players and teams differently

And now we’re admitting that they obviously do, the next question is who is influencing the way they see each player and team?

This “lack of respect” bollocks again 💀

He’s a footballer who gets paid millions a year to kick a fucking ball about.

What do we know about him? World Cup winner, “leader”? Great. We also know he constantly rocks up late to training, shit talks the club on social media despite being captain, gets sent off for reckless challenges when half our squad is already unavailable and we’re facing relegation, his reputation has made people “scared of getting on his wrong side” because he’s short tempered and a bit of a cunt.

He just sounds like an absolute fucking melon.

Fantastic footballer when he’s on it, no doubt about that whatsoever but holy fuck take his cock out of your mouth.“Bigger and better things”. Are you even a Spurs fan.
