Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Without Romero and Van de Ven we wouldn't have even made the final. That's why they barely played in the league from March onwards.

It's so blindingly obvious how important these two players are to this iteration of Spurs.

Also it's a big part of our problem that they are so important. We just don't have enough genuinely "good" players.

Bang on, Danso has done well as backup but Dragusin is useless.

Well really miss Romero and VDV when they go.

If you go back to 23/24 when this iteration of Spurs began the premier league win ratio with Romero involved skyrockets.

And whatever you do don't mention Romero's Europa League win/loss ratio. Because it doesn't count if he's literally MOM in our biggest victory for 40 years. Or something... :D
Exactly. I’ve essentially only included the worst of Romero’s games and omitted the best of Romero’s form and his point still falls flat.

I made no mention of good or bad, I simply pulled the exact numbers out and all you’ve done is type a load of nonsense.

If you include the past two seasons in the PL only, we have won 11/38 (29%) games he’s started and 7/28 (28%) games he’s not been apart of.

It’s pretty obvious we’re just a shit football club over the last two years. This idea that we’re somehow better without him is false because we are clearly significantly better in Europe with him and essentially the same in the league - across two full seasons.
Friedel said it in the interview. Romero is one of the problems. And when you make one of your problems the captain, his negative influence is multiplied.

If he was just a squad player, it wouldn't as big of an issue, but asking the other players to perform week in, week out, when the captain shows he simply doesn't care.. That's too much regardless of how much they make.

You have to hold the Captain responsible. Particularly when he's the one getting sent off more than anyone else, and when he makes constant mistakes in defence, doesn't track back...

That's what so many has pointed out, and Friedel gave us right in that interview. He is ITK if someone is.

Juve moved him on and didn't want him back, and he's never (to my recollection) been linked with a move back to Serie A, so there could well be some smoke there

You tried claiming specifically that we’d be better off without Romero in the squad, I cited numbers that prove you completely wrong and your response is a bunch of waffle about intangible things you cannot quantify.

I couldn’t care less what Brad Friedel says tbh. Ange just came out and said the exact opposite so it’s all a bit ridiculous. You’ll side with anyone who trashes Romero and dismiss anyone who sides with Romero.

Really, you didn't. You picked numbers from different competitions. Some may fall for it but it's so easy to see through it.

You should try sticking to the facts. The facts clearly state that this season in the PL we have won a higher percentage of our games without Romero in the team than when he has played.

It really is that simple.

I didn’t. Your reading comprehension is just lacking. I gave you all the numbers you just aren’t able to read.

Verbal irony, paradox of bias, hypocrisy. Whichever you want.

"You’ll side with anyone who trashes Romero and dismiss anyone who sides with Romero."

alongside

"I couldn’t care less what Brad Friedel says"

in simpler terms, you contradicted your own advice before you even wrote it

Lol no, because he went on to say this:

You are aware that normal people can read full sentences, right?

Why are you people like this? It's so weird.

Thing is, they aren’t meant to ref different players and teams differently

And now we’re admitting that they obviously do, the next question is who is influencing the way they see each player and team?
The media and fans of other clubs. Everyone knows most of the London media are Woolwich season ticket holders.

Thats why Gabriel can get away with everything Romero gets sent off for.

Every time we concede, I remember the words "world class".

We've gone backwards since he arrived.

Replacing our great Belgian CB's was always going to be tough - but this has been a disaster.

Yet somehow it was sold as elite recruitment.
Some were fooled.
Some still are.
