Am I a "usual suspect"?Ha ha. Who else remembers Lamela scoring that rabona and then getting sent off for slapping some Gooner gimp.
Good times.
Not sure why the usual suspects are holding him up as some sort of paragon in comparison to Romero though... No wait - it's the usual rampant hypocrisy isn't it?![]()
But I wasn't comparing him to Cuti, although that certainly could be a discussion worth having, I was simply saying that we could do with more of his like in the squad.
No need for that last paragraph mate, it's just pointless shit-stirring with no relation at all to what's been said.
Where's the hypocrisy in what has been said?
Trying hard is the minimum at this level, sorry but I’m not giving a player credit for that. I get what you’re saying though but look at the comparisons; both hurt often, both loved by fans for no reason, but referred to by nicknames that fans love, both make stupid fouls, both hot heads, both unreliable in big games.Sorry, but that’s disrespecting Lamela.
Lamela always gave his all for the badge and it was very apparent he really loved the club, not something you can say about Romero.
Lamela’s issue was his lack of availability due to his fragility. I’ve never questioned his commitment in the way we have Romchops.
I’d have Erik in the team over the faux hard man every day of the week!
USUAL SUSPECT HAS ARRIVED!!No mate. You are the very opposite of the "usual suspect".
I know and agree.
The same people slaughtering Romero for being crocked and a red card merchant suddenly lionising Erik Lamela who was barely ever on the park for us (sadly) and hardly a stranger to yellow and red cards is the very height of "hypocrisy".
You, of course, didn't do that - but those that did know who they are; and are shameless so it will be water of a duck's back to them.
But I felt like pointing it out anyway.![]()

I was actually going to comment that I feel a bit sorry for Romero because he's usually accused to putting his national team first and now it's reported that he's not doing that, he's still getting grief. No mate. You are the very opposite of the "usual suspect".

I know that he's a decisive player and I myself wouldn't be too upset if he leaves in the summer, but he's nowhere as bad as some make out.
USUAL SUSPECT HAS ARRIVED!!

Injuries are one thing, but I just ran a quick search and apparently not only did Lamela never receive a single straight red card in his entire time with us, but also he received only one double-booking resulting in a sending off, in that rabona derby against Arse. I know, I'm surprised too; it seems like he was always riding the line of a sending off for us!
So, combined with the fact that HE WASN'T A CENTERBACK, I think we can consider your entire narrative here to be dead on arrival.

Both players were injury prone hotheads who you watched with your heart in your mouth and loved because they gave it everything.I was starting to type, but TBH I CBA!Trying hard is the minimum at this level, sorry but I’m not giving a player credit for that. Total crap. If it hadn't been for Romeros goals, we would be down already.
He is the only world class player in our team. And if the club had fought for him in the same way he fights for us, he would be getting away with more, just like Gabrial.
Cucks like you would rather parrot what Neville and Carragher say about our players though. Weak!!
