Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Nailed right here my friend.

Ever time our best players want out, our fans en-masse turn on the player himself instead of targeting their vitriol at the reasons they're always so desperate for the exit door.

It's why the club never progresses.
The clubs never been fully committed to competing, even under Levy it was at least twice in a position to push on and challenge the elite and it chose not too. That obviously means you actually lose your best, ambitious players...Berbatov, Keane, Modric, Bale, Kane. Its struck gold a few times and refused to make it count. The scum backed a worse side than at least 2 we have had with a 100m player and its reaped the rewards.

Can you imagine Stevie P, doing such a thing?
Horrendous behaviour.

In life I have long got to the point where I am only surprised by things and behaviour that are by their nature a surprise.

I am neither surprised and really nobody else should be and nor do I care.

Romero has been sticking 2 fingers up at the club and supporters like you for a long time, and worst is that some posters on here, who are clearly intelligent and thoughtful have fallen for the charade.

For one or two posters, their support of this charlatan comes as zero surprise.

It's a non-issue for me unless he is somehow allowed to put on a Spurs shirt again.

I don't use the c-bomb on here, as Mrs Perryman would not approve, but if this story is completely true then this guy is an utter cunt, and I hope I never see him wear the shirt again. Piece of shit.
There are certain situations when it's completely understandable................... and this is one of those situations. I'm seething reading this thread.

Good to see the back of him. It also shows what this squad think about each other too. It's a terrible group of 'players', absolute massive clearout is needed.

Hopefully at least 10 go this summer, it's a lot but it's needed, the club is rotten. Full of pricks in that squad who somehow have the audacity to think they are better than they are! i think folie a deux is rife in the changing room.
More hopefully

Another indictment on this awful squad is that he was chosen as captain to begin! it tells you all you need to know about the lack of men and strong personalities at the club.

Wasn't long ago we watched little brats like Spence and VDV completely mug off the manager in front of the world, that doesn't happen at a club with proper men in the squad, it wouldn't be allowed behind closed doors. The club is full of weak little melts.

Absolute massive clearout in the summer, get some actual men in the club.

In their defence, Spence and VDV were probably bang on about Frank.

They may even have been upset with said decision to make Romero captain.

Nah, I don't think it reflects on the other players. Not every player needs to be a captain and many of them aren't in the right stage of their careers.

It reflects most poorly on the ones that chose Romero as captain. Likely Vinai and Lange. Because they are clueless.

The aquad like Romero, they all are seemingly behind him when he does his social media outbursts.

Frank didnt make Romero captain that's for sure, there was a report that came out from Jay Harris that pretty much said that.

It reflects on the squad, if Romero is the best candidate for captain then its in a shit state....and look where we are now!

He’s been a fucking nightmare since the minute we signed him. Just constant fucking drama with him. And vastly overrated because he won a World Cup. He’s nowhere near the world class centre half some paint him to be, he wouldn’t be part of the worst defence in Spurs’ history two seasons in a row if he was.

Sell him, use the money to go towards upgrading our midfield, left wing and striking options, and trust in Vuskovic. I can’t be arsed with another season of this drama queen’s antics.
Absolutely. Also, let's not act as if the defence of Argentina was the main reason they won it. Quite clearly one of the best, if not the best, player of all time carrying them was the big reason for that. There were plenty of games were Argentina looked comfortable but turned to chaos towards the end of the games. Not only Romero's fault obviously but a world class defender would at least do something to prevent that I would imagine. We can also look at the centre backs he competed with in Argentina that tournament:

Otamendi - 34 years old at that point playing for Porto. And I don't think he was that incredible in his prime either.
Lisandro Martinez - In many ways pretty similar to Romero. Injury prone, can be spectacular on his day but quite often an absolute car crash.
Pezzella - Played at Betis at that point. Nope, never heard of him.
Juan Fucking Foyth - A fucking Spurs reject.

It really wasn't, and still isn't, that impressive that he's a regular for Argentina.

Appreciate it’s unrealistic to exit a contract situation and ‘sack him’, but at the very least we should have the balls to strip him of the captaincy before Sunday.

Grow a pair and show some pride for the badge, ffs.

Then sell him.

Someone else will be chosen on Sunday. RDZ can have a team talk and get everyone on the same page.

As far as publicly stripping him of captain, I see it as a distraction we just don't need.

We can publicly rip him after the game.
