My only concern there is that by making a big deal out of it, any potential suiters probably see that as 'unrest' and hence an opportunity to get him £10m cheaper than they were prepared to pay yesterday...

I say let's just get the season done with as little further Romero-related drama as possible, then sell him to the highest bidder, and honestly it really would be good riddance. Hopefully Vuscovic comes in and turns out to be an upgrade, win-win! :)

He has never performed consistently in the PL for Spurs. He's not even considered one of the leagues top CBs, he's nowhere near it. If he was so good, another PL club would be trying to take him off us.

He has cost us loads of goals and results, not just with his mistakes and poor defending, but because of his ill discplined and dumb play which doesn't just make him an overrated defender, it also makes him a liability.

We quite literally do not miss him at all, when he doesn't play. Since when does that ever happen with a world class player? I mean, think about it.

This is a guy who has been a big part of the worst Spurs side in living memory, with two consecutive 17th places finishes (hopefully).

He may well end up at Barcelona, the slower pace of that league combined with the fact outside of 3 clubs the rest of the league is dross, will make him look better than he is.

But the fact is in the PL he's nothing more than average, to poor. And if he doesn't sort out his ill discipline and mistakes, he'll be a complete flop in Spain too.

I don't think he will end up at Barcelona anyway.

The term world class is thrown around so easily by people it's ridiculous honestly. Romero is nowhere near world class, it's laughable that anyone who has watched him the last 3 years would call him world class. He's not fit to clean Saliba and Gabriels boots. If Romero is world class, those two must be fucking gods.

Romero is far better than Gabriel and Saliba. Thats why Barcelona aren't interested in them. It blows my mind that any Spurs fan would ever say that.

Gabriel and Saliba have been protected by the PGMOL the last 5 years. They are bang average. Romero on the other hand has been the victim of blatant bias.

If he doesnt end up at Barcelona, guarantee he still goes to a bigger club than Spurs, but yeah, def not world class.

It is shocking that he won't be with us in the final game, but i can also understand how he feels let down by the club, because he has been.

Gabriel gives his all for Woolwich. Same can't be said of Romero. Petulant, inconsistent at best and nowhere near as good of a defender as Gabriel. Better on the ball yes but that's it imo.

Fucking hell, I've read some dumb shit in my time but this is up there. You clearly know nothing about football.

Barcelona have in fact wanted Saliba for a long time, so do Madrid. But he's practically unobtainable and would cost a world record fee for a CB.

Him and Gabriel are two elite CBs and a big reason why the scum have been top 2 in the PL for a number of years, are now title winners, and CL finalists and potential winners of that too. It doesn't actually get better than that in club football.

Woolwich don't even have that good of an attack. Their whole success is built around Saliba, Gabriel and Raya and Rice. They barely ever concede because they are world class.

Romero isn't fit to clean their boots. That's just a fact. Nobody with any clue about football, would even put Romero in the sentence as those two. He's miles below them.

You're just a biased Spurs fan who overrates mediocre Spurs players, it's a disease. Completely deluded. There's a reason we are fighting relegation, it's because our supposed best player and captain is actually a fucking fraud. If Romero was an ounce as good as Saliba or Gabriel he'd be a huge miss and we'd all be crying about him potentially being injured or leaving, but we aren't, because he's a liability. There are so many PL CBs who would and do perform better in the PL than Romero. He's a walking disaster.

A serious captain would be in the dressing room every week supporting the players when relegation is on the line. And to not even be there for the most important game in our modern history? Get to fuck.

Whatever league we're in next year this guy's poisonous and needs out of our club.
