Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Should've nuked the Argie bastard, proper destroyed him in front of the whole world. But no, let's say positive stuff about him, how he's been a great captain coming into the jeffe's office etc.
I think we will find out De Zerbis real feelings on him soon enough but he basically told us it yesterday when he brought up Davies and everything he has done. He was effectively comparing the 2 of them.
I agree with how he's handled it. Romero is a cunt and we all know it but De Zerbi coming out and destroying him on public ahead of tomorrows game would not help us, only creates more negative stories. Forget Romero until after tomorrow and then do him, reckon that's De Zerbis plan.

RDZ is clearly 100% behind 'good vibes' and trying to cuddle them into staying up.

I expect he'll turn into a complete bastard as soon as the season has ended

His club resume is so average. The best name on it is Juve, but they never played him. Can you even say he played for them? I think not.
Genoa and Atalanta.
Remember, he was not in the Atalanta side that went far in the CL. Romero came the year after and it looks like Atalanta detoriated from the year that he arrived.
After that to a decent Spurs side, and the side detoriated following his arrival.
The bottom came the year he was made captain. We only managed to get a good run after he was permanently injured for the season. The energizer the club so badly needed.
Romero is probably the biggest fraud in PL history. Made a captain of a "top 6" side just to get them relegated. Con artist.

Great post.

Romero is one of the most over rated footballers to ever play for Spurs.

I mentioned it on here in Feb. Juve took a massive loss on him for no obvious reasons.

Yes, sorry. Genoa were the ones that sold him to Juve.

Genoa paid around £3.5m for him and sold him to Juve for £30m ish 12 months later.

Juve then immediately loaned him back to Genoa for a season, and when he came back then then sent him off to Atlanta with an option to buy for £15m ish. Which, of course, Atalanta did so they could get £50m for us.

If there wasn't a red flag there, it's dodgy in some other way. Very strange.

Yeah RDZ has said many times that we cannot afford to waste energy, the focus has to be on the matches and nothing else. He was never going to go nuclear over Romero's behaviour in these circumstances and create a shitstorm that will only add pressure.

He made it quite clear how he feels when he said he 100% agreed with the fans, made the comparison with Davies then gave a dry answer when asked if Romero would play for us again. He handled it well.

Situation reminds me a bit of Aubameyang at Woolwich. He was probably their best, or at least most talented, player at the time and the captain and I remember thinking they might be screwed without him and Lacazette cos the rest of their squad wasn't all that. But they needed to get the rotten influence and character out of the club to move forward.

That's how I feel about Romero at the moment. Keep hearing people on podcasts calling him world class, but it doesn't matter when he's doing dumb shit all the time and creating a massive mess in his wake. Whether it's scandals, suspensions or injuries, the guy's just a fucking headache.

Before we sell him we need to sack Lange and Vinnai
Can't trust them with the transfer fee
They'll buy magic beans or something

Listened to the TFC podcast yesterday and one of the guys called him the best centre back Spurs ever had. Or the most talented, don't remember the exact phrasing but laughable regardless. Didn't bother listening to the rest of the episode after that.

Outside of all the prior opinions about Romero this one raised my eyebrows most

Funny things, eyebrows. That tweet made your eyebrows go up, but it made mine go all furrowed and angry-looking.

Fit but not fit. What a bastard.
