The only reason anyone cares is because of internet rage bait. 10 years ago nobody would have had a fucking clue where Romero was or is.
If anyone thinks Romero is the first injured captain to leave the country, they are taking too many drugs.

Yeah it’s pretty obvious he’s been shamed back. Club have obviously got wind of the backlash too and probably ordered him back or he’s realised himself and his agent has had words. And now it’s even more obvious the only reason he went to Argentina was to watch that football game. Once he realised he couldn’t attend due to the optics he’s now decided to come back.

The reason people care is because there’s a good chance we could be relegated and the club captain has fucked off on a jolly with a ‘not my problem’ attitude rather than supporting his team mates!

Ok, so I’m one of those bellends that backed him. Blindly? Maybe. Dunno.
What I saw was a class defender, who like almost every other player, has little or no affinity with the club that pays his wages. A player with a wild side that had the mentality and capability to pull us through big games, but suffered from a reputation that meant he was a bit of a card magnet and also a bit injury prone. A guy who, due to scant alternatives, probably had to be club captain.
Then he cried on the pitch. Then he fucked off to Argentina. And was lost to me.
What did I miss that was so obvious to you and others on here, before those two things that has lead to posters glorying in being right? In what way do we as a whole need to hear, on today of all days, smug proclamations about some posters being right and some being wrong?
If that was the plan then we would have been told either by De Zerbi or by romeros agent that he was always going to come back for the game. It would have killed all the controversy before it even started.

From my perspective I think his aggressive nature and his ability to pick a pass mask a rash defender that isn’t really that good at his primary role of defending!
I think his positioning can be poor, he’s regularly beaten in the air, he has no control in the tackle and he regularly fucks off up the pitch leaving us woefully exposed at the back, strolling back into position like he doesn’t care, watching on while the opposition score.
Its also been very apparent that he isn’t captain material, can be a disruptive influence in the dressing room and doesn’t really give a shit about the club.
People are just venting their anger towards him on here and when those that ridiculed you, proclaiming Romero was world class and you didn’t have a Scooby, I should imagine it’s very difficult to not point out they’re fucking idiots after all!
