That's not answering the question I asked though is it?If people want to believe Romero chose to travel however many hours to go to Belgrano's training session just to watch them train and then fly all the way back and not watch the game, then people are certifiably insane.
Just think about what that interpretation is.
He went to Argentina to watch a training session.
That's what people want to believe.
Mental.
Not sure about Stones and his injuries, but Senesi as part of the squad would be a good shout.Ship him off to athletics and bring in stones and sensei on freebies. Job done.
Because the answer is obvious.
Because the answer is obvious.
His focus was on the game.
What does he achieve throwing the club captain under the bus in that press conference?
Zero is the answer.
De Zerbi doesn't strike me as a man who dabbles in zero number games.
You believing he went to Argentina to watch a training session is your prerogative.
Me thinking that is a ridiculous thing to believe from Romero is mine.
Nah, he hasn't shown contempt for the club but he's shown he doesn't give the slightest shit. He can fuck off and honestly he'd be the first out the door for me. We don't need someone like him as club captainIf he hadn't been at the game today, the guy would be dead to me. Judas 2 etc. But he was there, so fuck it. I'm cool. I cannot be bothered to get all wound up about whatever the fuck that circus of noise was all about.
I'm very calm.Sigh... You really need to calm down and address the question being asked - not the one you've made up in your head.
I've not said anything about Romero's motives or otherwise in going to Argentina. That is a discussion you were having withRichard Arlison . I've not commented on it AT ALL.
What I asked you was very simple. We both agree that De Zerbi is a straight shooter. He's consistently praised Romero as a player and character from the moment he came to Club - both pre injury and post injury. In multiple press conferences. Was he lying in all of those weeks? If so why?
And if he wasn't lying - then... what?
(It's entirely possible that De Zerbi changed his mind about Romero after the Argentina business I suppose?)
I'm very calm.
You've answered your own question in the parentheses.
To him, and to all of us, Romero, off the pitch had been fine.
Then he does what he does and opinions change.
That's what people should do when presented with new evidence.
This thread was flooded with people saying how much they liked and respected him up until this incident (I am one of them).
In the weeks prior, the incident hasn't happened yet so has no bearing on how De Zerbi feels now.
The fact De Zerbi also placed the responsibility at the medical teams rather than say he allowed it as manager is damning too.
Remember, this is a manager who put Maddison in the actual playing squad knowing he was not fit to play, but for morale.
Haha, attacked?Cool. It would have been easier if you'd just said this first time in answer to a good faith question rather than attacking me for a position I have never argued.
But yes it feels plausible to me that De Zerbi held Romero in high esteem but may have cooled on that due to recent events. And probably rightly so if, indeed, Romero was planning to miss the final game.
Haha, attacked?
Your skin must be wafer thin.
This is TFC motherfucker.

I know what would be better though. Integrate Vušković straight away.
I'm at peace with him leaving, I think it would be good to get a clean break from us and from him but no one is ever going to sit there and tell me that he doesn't get refereed differently to everyone else.
That challenge yesterday by Rohl on VDV was the very definition of the 'If that was Romero' kind of challenge would have been a red for him because he's been sent off twice by Michael Oliver for making remarkably similar challenges, just listen to the bullshit they justify the reds in these matches and tell me how it's different to the Rohl challenge.

Obvious refs are out for him based on reputation alone, that's one of the reasons we need to move on from him.
If people want to believe Romero chose to travel however many hours to go to Belgrano's training session just to watch them train and then fly all the way back and not watch the game, then people are certifiably insane.

This is the only reason I’m ok with him leaving.
They ref him on impossible egg shells and sooner or later they WILL give him the next red card that nobody else gets sent off for. The PGMOL have made it crystal clear they don’t want Romero at this club.
Think he will go.If that challenge on VDV today is done by Romero on an opponent he is off.
I think he’s gone anyway. A club doesn’t sign Sensini and bring back Voskovic (from what he’s said) if they are keeping all their centre backs. He called VDV the best left sided centre back in the league after the match today, so he’s not going anyway. Romero will go, it’s just where, not when.
