It’s infinitely more difficult you moron. Imagine thinking beating a 100+ point city team and an incredible Ajax side who had schooled Madrid and Juve after dicking Dortmund and battling through a group including Inter & Barca is an easier accomplishment than beating fucking Bodo Glimt, Frankfurt, Alkmaar and the shittest United team anyone has ever seen.

He’s right. You can’t think critically; it’s just emotion. When you break this bullshit down it’s insanely dumb. The EL is literally objectively a worse competition by far, it’s not even something you can argue.

Reaching the CL final (the actual pinnacle of the club game) is miles ahead.

Poch never won anything though.

He had his opportunities to show how easy it is to win the Europa League, he failed to take them.

Harder wins en route to not winning a Final are ultimately empty. Trophy cabinets and history books remember what you won.

All the other so called ITK and bullshitters have been piggybacking off this post that was made on spurs community back in April.

"Something has already changed, Lewis has brought in Charrington as non executive director and given him control of his shares. This as happened for a reason, he is obviously unhappy,

I have seen this happen before at one of Tavistock's other UK based businesses, the appointment of a non-executive, review of operations, then changes at board level. Charrington will and remove Levy if necessary, he has a history of getting underperforming businesses to reach their potential.

Lewis also gave our board of directors the privilege of being able to remove and appoint a new Chairman some time ago, 3/4 of the board needed to vote him out, This was done to avoid complacency at board level but obviously hasn't happened, they have all got to comfortable with each other and are now all complacent."

Same guy also posted this back in May

"Best time for Levy to step down :)"

Now all the other ITK are claiming they knew about it back in March.

They really are full of shit and bandwagon jumpers.

Maybe Donna Cullen was removed first so they could have enough votes to push Levy out if needed.

We didn’t win the Europa league under Pochettino because we didn’t take it seriously and rotated the team because we had bigger fish to fry and a small squad.

And yeah I mean obviously winning something is better than not winning a better something. But the better something was still harder to achieve, lol. Which is the whole point.

It’s harder to get to a champions league final than it is to win the Europa league. That’s not my opinion it’s just a fact. There’s a reason a Sevilla, who could never do a single thing in the CL, won the Europa league for fun. It’s infinitely weaker.

If he didn’t take it seriously then he wasn’t that good as a manager. That was a poor decision.

Meh, it didn’t give you CL football then and we were in league title conversations. It was universally considered the ugly brother of the CL and nobody wanted to be in it. The ‘you play Thursday night footy’ was roundly considered one of the sickest burns to a rival fan.

Look, I get it .. we won it, and therefore it’s now Huge. But the fans arsed about being in it when we were managed by Poch were a minority. Some were annoyed when we blatantly sacked it off but for the most part it was accepted we were trying to target bigger things.

His tenure undeniably will grow in our estimation in years to come, but I think it has been clear since the stadium finished he really is a total chancer on the football side. I was very willing to be patient with him when all the infrastructure was being built, because it seemed like there was a strategy that would manifest footballing success.

But he was always just far too insistent in having his paws all over the footballing side, which he has no expertise in. It was underlined by all the cringey shit in the documentary where he’s talking to players and everything. He should have been nowhere near football decisions besides signing checks.

You look at City and Liverpool, who obviously are extremely well off in terms of money but they are also finely tuned organizations because they empower actual football minds like Txixi and Michael Edwards to make and execute footballing decisions. Every director of football we ever had felt like a patsy, with Levy calling the shots.

There’s no excuse for him spending 25 years blundering around aimlessly on the footballing side with no strategy or vision. Even if he didn’t want to spend money, there’s no reason we couldn’t have been extremely competently run on the footballing side like Brighton or similar. But he wanted to do it all and couldn’t let go, and had no vision of what it should look like because his background isn’t football.

However, I am slightly concerned about the seeming ascendancy of the Lewis children in decision making, I do hope they set up a structure and then let professionals run it and stay in the background.

Yeah I agree with all of this.

Henry winter doing a good job of laying into him on SSN paper round up last night along a similar theme. Worth a watch/podcast listen. Hes quite fair about Levy.

Unlike you, I’m capable of posting about something else.

Perhaps this signals the end of your time on this forum? I can’t imagine you discussing the football.
Not my fault you lack imagination, or the ability to read . I frequently post on the football side of things , admittedly not always during home matches as I’m actually at the game .

Anyway this might be the start of a new era , depending on ENIC’s plans moving forward .

So why did he wait till after the transfer window closed to Leave ?
still keeping tight hold of the club till the end
if he had gone earlier maybe we would have got other players on the list

My feelings on Levy is he has set the club up well to be run by somebody else with more focus on the football. Once the stadium was done and the low interest bonds where set he basically outlived his usefulness to the club so it was 100% the right decision like removing Ange was the right call but now he is gone the good he did mainly off the pitch can be appreciated.

One of my big hopes in the post-Levy era is that the constant general negativity that's become part and parcel of supporting Spurs lifts and people can stop being hateful cunts about our own players.

Yeah I agree. I do wonder if part of the timing of it has to do with the EL win. The Lewises wanting to come in at a high. One thing that sticks in my mind and surely something they would have noticed was during the Brighton post match celebrations, everyone was in good spirits then the camera pans to Levy and hes audibly booed straight away. There’s that negativity you’re talking about. Right at the moment of celebration there’s the man perceived as not promoting that by the fans but still being a figure of ridicule and hatred.

I can’t lie , I’m gonna miss his big beautiful bald head! Say what you want about the man , but he made bald beautiful again! :levyhands:

BREAKING NEWS:

In light of Tottenham fans who are going to miss his big beautiful bald head, Tottenham have moved quickly to replace Daniel Levy after his shock departure.

Tottenham Hotspur are delighted to announce this man, a born winner, as new CEO.

WELCOME ANDRE AGASSI

Tottenham Hotspur announces that Daniel Levy has today stepped down from his role as Executive Chairman after nearly 25 years.
So he was the chairman almost for the whole duration of the Premier League. That's a long time. And during that time the Spurs haven't won the Premier League title. I suppose that his reign must most definitely go down as a failure.

In the tune of Dan McLean's American Pie:

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how the Spurs
Used to make me smile
And Levy thought if he had a chance
That he could make the Spurs fans dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
But 2018 made me shiver
No transfers to deliver
Bad news for the Spurs fans
I couldn't take one more day
I can't remember if I cried
When I read that he had left
But something touched me deep inside
The day Levy's reign died

So, bye-bye Mr Daniel Levy
Lewis' wanted Levy out and Levy has gone
And them good ol' Spurs fans wanted him kicked out as well
Singin', We've all got our Tottenham back
We've all got our Tottenham back

Something to make you choke on your Corn Flakes .

It seems he was pushed rather than saying I’ve had enough. He now puts together a group of investors to buy the club and reinstate him as Chairman . I think most of us would like ENIC to sell still , imagine the horror if it’s to a Levy led consortium. Remember he owns about 25 % of the club still.
