🎶We got Levy Out say we got Levy out🎶

Come on guys...Today should be a day of rejoicing, optimism and reconciliation...

He's gone. It's over....some of you really need to just let go.

There's a million possible scenarios for why and how this played out.

It may be as simple as we finished 17th, and that meant the end for Ange and Levy, who had been doing poorly with managers.

Frank may well not have been a Levy hire at all.

We'll never know.

I’m. Ot excited about the claim that the owners want us to win more, that would involve spending more money. I can’t see them doing that. I reckon we are going to be sold. It’s been made public that If we were sold Levy would want to remain as Chairman. I can’t see buyers, whether they are USA based or Qatari agreeing to that. With Levy gone there would be more chance of selling. Might even get a stadium naming rights deal at last, we have lost at least £75 million in 5 years as we could have got at least £15 million a year surely.

Of course but had Barcelona spannered a fortune on Eriksen instead of Coutinho, we'd have been better off.
We would have spunked it all on mediocre, low paid shite.
Eriksen himself was such a purchase with the Bale money.
Eriksen, Chiriches, Paulinho, Chadli were all meh really. Only Soldado and Lamela had any star power and basically failed anyway.
Liverpool sold Coutinho the same season they had already brought Salah in. They used the money to buy VVD then the next season added Allison.

Big money in.
Big money out on nailed on 1st team players for the best part of a decade.

You can't prove they had no effect any more than he can they did. As for change for Tottenham all we can conclusively say is their name and the last 36hrs line up rather nicely. As Tacitus said success has many fathers failures and orphan..
One thing CFT wanted, and continue to want above all else, is a more successful football team on the pitch. That's why I'm proud to subscribe and continue to support their cause...
.....it's also why I have absolutely zero respect for those so called fans who attack and belittle them like a bunch of spoilt children playing to a gallery who jump up and down like monkeys at every dig or slander they make.

CFT .working and campaigning for a stronger, more successful, more competitive and more supporter friendly Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

I feel like the implications are pretty clear.

Plan A is to sell a minority share, pumping somebody else's cash into the club. Levy was an obstacle to that happening, so he's gone.

If that doesn't materialize in the way Team Lewis wants, other options will be considered.

I didn't care about them at all until they released that pathetic statement yesterday.

Now I think they're all jerks and I hope they never manage to move out of their parent's basements.

I'm hearing that Vivienne Lewis, the daughter who Joe considers his "heir", is a massive lilywhite. She had Glenn Hoddle posters on the wall of her bedroom and, like me, doesn't own a single red item of clothing.

Go girl!

I want to make it perfectly clear that I sincerely doubt that Vivenne slept beneath posters of Glenn Hoddle.

I did however sleep under a poster of Gary Mabutt with the whole of the 1991 FA Cup winning team. A West Ham mate brought it over as a present.

Of course, I have learnt from this forum that it was a second tier trophy, I should have of course have abandoned Tottenham after 22 years and supported our near neighbours, who were obviously much better than we were.

I think those are the two likely outcomes.

I laugh though at the Lewis’ PR spin about wanting to win more, as if Levy hasn’t been acting to their instructions all these years! 😂

That contrarian behaviour is deeper than you think. I studied something like this phenomenon when we did the civil rights movement in politics. Some people even when they stand to gain big things: autonomy votes really resist the idea of disorder, its got a name but it escapes me. I was shocked at how hard some oppressed peoples parroted the language of the people refusing them agency. Like we dont want the noise the mess the uncertainty but we are not really happy either, but why you so loud!!. I'm going to look up the damn name.

Levy insisting on remaining in his chair following any major buyout was always gonna be a massive obstacle and a hindrance.

It's like me trying to sell my house and saying to my estate agent "I want you to get 50% above the market value, and I want to carry on living there when it's been sold"

I mean, Come on, man

Plenty of ownership changes in the pl (even non oil money ones, and traditional big business looking for an actual prifit) have led to stronger results.

Take Liverpool as one massive example.
It doesn't limit the concern though.

At the moment, Tottenham Hotspur is worth around £4B because of the infrastructure and assets. What is to stop a new owner coming in and essentially asset stripping the club, selling the property to themselves at lower prices and creaming all the profits off them, rather than them going into the club, or taking huge dividends out? Or both?

Yes there are entities out there that that will invest for success, but we already know that there are others who'll see this as a cow to be milked.

For all his faults, the only thing Levy took out of this club was a wage. A big one for sure but, when you are solely responsible for turning a business you bought for what, £22M? into a business valued at £4B, why wouldn't you take a top wage? By those lights he'd earned it.
What always made me laugh was the complaint about his wage, by the same people DEMANDING that he pay his employees over 5 times as much!

There aren't too many businesses in the World where the employees are paid hugely more than the guy who both owns and runs the place.

I worry because, despite their soundbite about wanting to be "more successful" on the pitch, I don't really believe the Lewis' actually give a shit. They won't care who they sell to, they'll get £4B to "ease the pain," whilst living thousands of miles away, so no Spurs fans to bother them.

Levy always said he saw himself as just a custodian of the club, and I believe he meant that. Yes he stands to profit handsomely from any sale, but I do think that he wouldn't sell to just anyone, he'd want to pass the club on to someone who would build on what he's done further.

I don't believe that will be the case with the Lewis'.

I hope I'm wrong, but knowing our luck...
