I wouldn't get carried away with the "Just call me Viv!" routine. People usually are as nice as can be while they're casing for the big inheritance swoop.

I honestly hope that they genuinely do want to be around for the long haul and want to make us "great again" and I'll be the first to commend them if they do make changes to the management to make us more successful but I've seen enough of people talking about all the great things they're going to do for others while Mum and Dad are still around to then completely disappear with the money as soon as Mum and Dad have kicked the bucket.

They can keep their fairy tale. I'll judge them by what they actually do in reality.

That's just simply not going to happen. The threshold for buying a club has went up, and due diligence is being a primary focus, to stop this kind of behavior.

You've just been conditioned into thinking we're doing great. We've been underperforming for a long time, playing everything extremely conservatively.

Levy & Enic did a great job in brainwashing many that we should be grateful for being average & winning very little. & we should pay a high price for this too. We would be grateful for winning a lot less than our rivals. They really did a number on the levy lovers!

Levy with his 100s of millions whilst a kid starves to death every 10 seconds. My thoughts on this will never be ‘he deserves all that wealth whilst others starve due to a lack of it’. & that levy ‘is one of the good humans for hoarding wealth he doesn’t need whilst other suffer in extreme poverty’.
No right or wrong. Just different views on people like him.
I get it’s capitalism & a sad reality of this world. But doesn’t mean we should ignore these selfish evil actions & start saying they deserve all this wealth & they are good humans. Unless you do think this of course. In Which case I think your morals are messed up!
I guess I took exception to you thinking he deserves to hoard all that wealth . Anyway, agree to disagree!

Whatever Levy’s faults he’s a Spurs fan so would have had the club’s best interests at heart. Can the same be said for the Lewis family?

We may never find out why Levy was really removed (I don’t buy the Lewis family statement). Maybe he was questioning a potential investor’s motives that they were looking to bring in and that’s the reason he’s been ejected?

He might have been well remunerated, but neither him or ENIC have taken substantial dividends out of the club like the Glazers when they quite easily could have.

Their investment has grown but so has the club.

I guess he can do whatever he like with his fortune, just like so many other wealthy individuals who earn obscene amounts of money whilst others starve in the world.

To be fair he spent most of his life this past year supporting & defending ang & levy. Telling us all how great they are & what a wonderful partnership they are & will be for many years. Instead levy sacks ang which would have been a huge confusing blow. Now ENIC get rid of levy. It will be a trying time for him. His 2 big loves … out of here! & all he fought for & believed in has gone up in dust.
Then we have to the big blow to the ego of being so wrong for so long! & it’s all over, proof you had got it so wrong is a fact.

As for billionaires, I don't believe it's possible to accumulate that much wealth by being a nice, good person. Maybe to their family, but everyone else is just ripe for exploitation. You can't build a mountain of money like that without fucking over, exploiting or just plain killing people.
Your point about Lewis is fair, but he hasn't pumped us full of money to cheat like an Ambramovich. There is an element of being able to distance or disassociate from him. I don't think he is closely linked the same either, is he always attending matches?

Why are you so fixated on Joe? He is no longer in control. It has been stated that his children Viv & Charlie are behind the changes. Viv was at the Burnley match. If Joe was still in control then so might Levy.

I think you should read up on what the club has done for the local community directly and through the Foundation.

Football at this level has become pretty morally vacuous anyway. With the whole raison d’etre for the clubs and media being to make profit, and the pros that turn up being more and more mercenary (see Isak for the latest iteration of this) it’s becoming a little soulless.

Personally, as Levy and Lewis had / have been in place for so long I can almost turn a blind eye to Lewis’ ‘old-school’ ‘villainy’ - state links or American owners are just horrific to contemplate but most likely.

However, we have to take the statement released at face value and assume it’s a succession plan, rather then a sell off.

I’m worried about the future - aside from Liverpool, which of the other ‘new’ owners would I take? None.

Maybe it’s my age, but I remember clubs being owned by people who wanted success for the sake of the club, not the shareholders. Levy - rightly or wrongly - wanted to build the club but forgot to have the success on the field at the heart of things. If we are sold, or if a new leadership team comes in, will they be actually in favour of the club’s success or just something more in their portfolio, to be ejected the second it’s less profitable?

TL/DR : Bit sick of modern football. Bring back jumpers for goalposts.
