I think Levy actually has c20%
ENIC own 86.58% of the club which is split as follows: Lewis Family Trust 70.12% and Daniel Levy 29.88%. There is no route for Levy to get to a controlling interest assuming the Levy Family Trust are not going to sell to him. In short, the Lewis Family Trust reached a point where they felt his presence was now harming asset value and when that happens, there is only one outcome. Don't feel bad for Daniel. He has been handsomely paid for 25 years and is going to get close to a billion when the asset is sold. At which point, we will hopefully stop talking about the club as an asset and start talking about it as a football club.

Poch allowing that squad to pass through the club without a trophy was a dereliction of duty as the club’s manager. He may have magpied himself into only focusing on the big shiny things but what he should have done is made sure that squad tasted actual success as early as possible, to guarantee that they wanted more and knew how to win.

Instead he gaslit those players into believing they were still great for finishing 2nd or reaching finals even though they never actually got over the line on anything. He misguided them.
You know Poch???

This is the problem. After 25 years of Levy being involved, clubs, players and managers just don't want to deal with us.
Just by removing him and putting someone else in there, with different propositions, tactics, people skills etc, we could open doors that were very firmly shut.
City for instance likely didn't want to sell to us because of Kane.
Chelsea haven't done any business with us for 20+ years since the Arnesson poaching and then Levy refusing to sell Modric.
I'm pretty sure most clubs feel the same about Levy now. And then there's the managers that have turned us down over the years. Conte apparently saying we weren't ambitious enough. Eventually coming, then seeing the lack of ambition fist hand.
And how many Rivaldo moments have we had?
This i've been saying for over a year now. Levy has painted this club into a corner where players and managers don't want to come here anymore.

Hopefully that will change now.

This is my take on the matter.

The recent spendings were not his decisions. Very un-Levy. He would not have sanctioned those spendings. So im guessing that the activities were not his calls. So he was unhappy. But the higher up powers decided enough was enough after the Eze debacle, so they took control, and that probably led to turmoil, and paved the way to this decision to remove him.

I might be wrong, but definitely the recent spendings were very peculiar and very unlike Levy
Really? I believe we've spent something in the region of quarter of a Billion over the last 5-6 years, with each Summer window's expenditure being pretty much the same.

The calibre of player may have changed somewhat, though I don't think this is the case either as the likes of Romero, VDV etc all fall/fell into the bracket of young and highly rated talent. We've done exactly that with Simon's, not so much with Kudus though he's still young, bought Takai etc, so I'm not really seeing much difference between previous windows and this one, particularly where the sum spent is concerned.

Well let's break this down, then.

During "one of the least successful periods in the club's history," we:

* Not only elbowed our way into the big boys' table but entrenched ourselves there at a time when it was virtually impossible to do so without winning the ill-gotten wealth lottery a la Chelsea or City.
* Came closer to winning the league than we have since, well, we actually won the league.
* Participated in European competition in all but 2 seasons (something we have never even come close to doing in our history)
* Built arguably the best football venue in the world
* The last two points in particular enabled us to attract and afford a higher caliber of player more consistently than ever before (though most of us would agree this ability has not been maximized to the extent it should have been, both in terms of quality and quantity)
* Contested 4 cup finals and 7 more semi-finals

To describe this period as you have just because we did not get the breaks we needed to get over the finish line (and, yes, some portion of the blame for that can reasonably be laid at the chairman's feet!) is either just childish, agenda-driven petulance, or it suggests that you genuinely would prefer to finish 11th every season as long as it comes with the odd League Cup once a decade — in which case, I humbly express my deepest sympathy once again.
Someone once said the game is about glory.

We should all shave our heads in tribute.
Which head???

Manc were offering peanuts for one of the world's best strikers... Not forgetting shafting us over Walker.

Why would we sell to Chelsea?

The problem with Levy was that he always had to win, he couldn't meet half way. He burned his bridges, coz he got to full of himself, low balling clubs, like did for Trossard, mention earlier.

Haggling over every little detail and it become annoying and frustrating.

One of my big hopes in the post-Levy era is that the constant general negativity that's become part and parcel of supporting Spurs lifts and people can stop being hateful cunts about our own players.
Mate, I go back a long way supporting this club and can tell you that nothing will change regarding being "hateful cunts" about our own players.

Many Spurs fans seem to have a need for a scapegoat, a player they can hate on and barrack from the stands. It's been a thing as long as I've been a supporter, going back to the early 70's.

Levy leaving won't change that mindset one iota.
