I’d suggest it’s part of the real reason Levy has been let go. He wasn’t running the club as well as is perceived financially.

This is probably the most accurate take. I think there are 2 reasons Levy was fired and it wasn't to do directly with the football.

The naming rights deal didn't materialise, it may may been good to start with 'Tottenham Hotspur Stadium' from a brand perspective but 6 years in a deal should have been struck and revenue should have been coming in.

The way that we negotiate transfers is so difficult we're not approachable when it comes to selling players, in fact to the point we very rarely make decent player sales, we either sell players when there is a record breaking value rarely (Kane/Bale) or when the player has lost the majority of their value already, we don't seem to sell a player in their 20s between £30-60 million nor do we get a great payout from our youth products, on the footballing front we're bad at buying but we're terrible at selling. This is perhaps why we're where we are and Liverpool are where they are.

I just dont seethe with hatred and blame him for every tiny little thing that goes wrong.

Its not my fault people are so wrapped up in their own opinions that they dont read what I say properly.
 
When a top club like Spurs finishes so low down then you need to sweep every floor clean, thats despite the Europa cup triumph which can also be considered rather lucky. Thankful for that tho.

Agreed you can live in a million pound house but unless you have a good income you are not rich without selling the house. To realise the asset we would have to sell either the ground or training ground and lease it back thus increasing costs.

You also like to try and negate the article about Rangers when Levy is quoted as saying in his own words that football is a cash cow.

I’m a Spurs supporter, with a soft spot for Aberdeen. Just for clarity.

If I decided to invest in buying Rangers and was then interviewed about it, my response would be that I’m not in this as a supporter, but in for monetary gain. As I’m not a supporter of the club, but head up an investment firm.

Then the chance to invest in us comes up and my reasons for investing significantly change. But I’m not interviewed about it.

It’s pretty simple really. Surely you can see the correlation here?

Agree! And for me our scouting department needs a major overhaul, as some of our targets/buys have been bang average for a club supposedly looking to compete for top honours.

The scouting is my biggest gripe.

We have been managed financially in a first class manner, especially considering the lack of the owners wishing to invest their own money on a regular basis.

We have spent considerable sums on players, but have wasted huge resource on some average players. I firmly believe the N’Dombele and GLC debacles gave Levy PTSD when we were looking to invest huge sums in player acquisitions. At various times the addition of two or three truly elite £80m players would have really taken us to the next level.

If the Lewis’ do plan on continuing to own the club, then I think this is an area we really need to improve.

However, the way Levy has been removed I can’t help feeling a sale of the club is the most likely result. The Lewis family statement was PR bollocks IMHO to scapegoat Levy and try to get the fanbase onside.

Time will tell….

From what I am reading the Scouts may have spoke highly of a particular player but if he played for a number of clubs they just would not deal with Levy. Hence we had a smaller band of players we could actually go for and we mainly purchased from abroad rather than the PL. we tried to get PL players this year and it was a disaster.
