Interesting to hear what Jordan has to say - he's been a chairman of a PL club. To paraphrase

''Levy ran Spurs for 24 years in the way Lewis wanted it run (nb. only twice has money been put in by enic/Lewis since they bought Spurs, (£10m at the start and £100m about 2 years ago), so its strange to hear Lewis family saying they want what all fans want which is success on the pitch'.

Woolwich realised post covid it needed to compete with the money bags of state sponsored/doped up clubs (which are not run as sustainable businesses) such as ManCity et al and 'pivoted' to invest more money into buying players (nb
the summer transfer window just ended with Kudus, Simons, Palhino and Kolo Muani, 4 starting X| players would seem to be the first sign of such a 'pivot' in direction)

So we wait to see (a) if either bidder want to make a significant bid (likely 4 bn +) or if not whether enic/Lewis family out their money where their mouth is and invest into Spurs to support the new management team.

Yep it’s exactly why I don’t put much faith in the Lewis’ family statement.

More or less to come according to Jordan who suggests Danny boy may have been double dealing behind the scenes with a prospective buyer whilst (at the same time) maneuvering a favourable position for himself going forward to the detriment of ENIC and caused a fall out with Lewis who found out and wielded the 🪓...hence the Club statement and the above retraction from the interested party.
Plausible theory

So anyone that doesn’t hold the same view as yourself is a cuck?

These people know Levy personally and have had dealings with him professionally, so dare say may have a little more insight than you!
Nooooo, you read my post all wrong.

It was common for posters who stopped short of comparing Levy to Hitler to be called "cucks" by the more rabid Levy Outers.

I was parodying those frothing at mouth types, not insulting Micky and Andros

:pochcmon:

SJ is right, that statement is absolutely a follow up from Levy getting the boot.

Either SJ's theory is the case and Levy was trying to get ENIC bought out and stay on himself.
or
ENIC want to sell and Levy was removed because he was standing in the way.

We will find out pretty soon.
It looks like Levy's exit led to media speculation about a takeover. The statement was a response, required by law, to these rumours.

All the indications were that the board under Levy wanted investment in the club and that, in effect, a non-controlling stake (e.g. 20%) was for sale. It sounds like the valuation put off suitors. So, there's no evidence that Levy's intention was to sell the club. Apart from anything else, it wasn't in his gift to make a decision like this without the support of the Lewis family.

If the Lewis family wanted to sell, then they wouldn't have issued such a categorical statement last night.

So SJ’s inference being that Levy was orchestrating a buyout of the club that was friendly to him retaining his role as chairman.

SJ insinuated that Levy would sell his shares in that scenario, surely though if Levy was trying to sell the club to a money bags buyer it would have been better for him to retain his shares so that they grow as the club does and thus increase his fortune more.

Why didn’t the law require them to respond to any of the previous speculations about a buy out?
