Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's not in control of what he's doing. How many people making comments over what depression is or isn't have actually had proper depression?
I don't mean being a bit miserable, I mean completely illogical and unmanageable unhappiness.

I was diagnosed in my late teens and suffer bouts a few times a year. Christmas especially. Go to the depression thread or the CALM thread. There are many on here who have shared their experiences.

Depression is not an excuse for bad behaviour. Depression doesn't mean you aren't in control either like you've suggested.

I certainly don't use depression for some of the shitty things I've said on this forum. It's not a tool for whitewashing.

Where do you get this from? One of the symptoms of depression is the feeling that you lack any control, not that you in fact don't have any control. Lack of control is called ICD, never have I seen it suggested that Danny suffers from ICD ... if he did he certainly couldn't play professional football.

I dont feel sorry for him, he may have mental healthy problems but that doesn't cover up for him being a dick

His choice to be a footballer in the public eye and his reward is his ridiculous pay packet, if he doesn't want to play football he should just retire and sort his life out

Who said he doesn't want to play?
He went to Mourinho, on camera to ask why he wasn't playing?
He then went to Newcastle on loan in order to play.
I've no idea what happened up there, did he get games?

So you're saying you've never said anything during a bout of depression you wish you hadn't?
Everyone has, and many do without the excuse of depression.

It doesn't make you not accountable. Also, I don't think Rose has ever shown contrition or admitted fault.

If depression meant you aren't in control the courts would be fucked. Most murderers are in deep depression. No excuse.

Yeah but like SchmoodSpur SchmoodSpur said above just because your have depression or Bipolar disorder which I have suffered with in the past

Used medication and 8 years later have no need for medication, it doesn't make you not accountable for your actions

Fans have to stop taking these disputes so personally - I think the whole reason for his current situation is that he wanted to play, but It's clear that he can't accept that he isn't what he was 4-5 years ago, before that knee injury smack bang in his prime. It's akin to a boxer that carries on too long.

Levy said it best in the documentary; Danny thinks his level is "up there" (maybe he thinks he can go to Milan and un-retire Paolo Maldini's no3 , who knows?), and the market isn't there for him at these levels, because clubs have gone for younger, healthier options like Reguilon and Jamal Lewis. That's the long and short of it, that's the business.

He's an abrasive character who speaks his mind, often to his own detriment, so it creates the perception that he's somehow deserved it. Interesting that there's Spurs fans on this very forum showing more sympathy to Man Utd's Phil Jones, and he's essentially in a similar situation.

Anyway, it's sad how it's all ending, but the club has invested in many more things that have delivered less returns than Danny Rose over the past 13 years.

Oh are we actually talking about Danny Rose in here now.

In that case, Danny Rose was never world class. He had a couple of decent seasons where he was largely carried by amazing players around him, didn't score a lot of goals, didn't provide a lot of assists.
Will be remembered more for sulking than being a great player.

That goal though.....

I'm bipolar too. The manias are wild (and not in a particularly fun way although I quite enjoyed them in my early teens - but they come with delusions so what do I know)

There's speaking your mind, then there is going to The Sun the week before the season starts to participate in an exposé.

That's what I take personally tbh.

You people can LIE. Calender year 2016 he was genuinely playing at an elite level and was better than Walker for me.
