Ex-Spurs Player Davinson Sanchez

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My view on this is to take a reverse approach to it.

1. How naive would you have to be to believe that there were no racist individuals among the 62,000 people at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday?

2. If you accept the probability that there were indeed people with prejudice in attendance at the game then how much of a further stretch is it to assume that they didn't blink when they booed Davinson's error and the fact it was Davinson who made the error may have led to them then continually booing him?

3. If you're with me to this point then you are beginning to see how these things often go down.

4. The vast majority of people booing Davinson yesterday were only booing him through complete and utter frustration with the football club and the players who continually make individual errors. These people are not racist or hateful people and they will resent being tagged as such.

5. The fact remains that a minority of those who were booing Davinson probably had more than one agenda. Black people will understand this better than anyone else. They recognise it and regularly experience it in all kinds of situations.

Some racist people don't like mumble rap because some of the rappers are black.

Most people don't like mumble rap because it's shit.

It's not racist to dislike mumble rap.

Some racist people also hide behind the fact that mumble rap is shit as an excuse for their racist motivation for disliking it.

Those dumb cunt who booed him..if they resent being tagged as racists..who cares, fuck them. They were cunts.

Side stepping again

This is not a Spurs issue, it is a problem across Europe.

Black and especially foreign underperforming players receive far more abuse from their fanbase than their non black counterparts.

There are countless articles online documenting this.

Get back to me when a non-black Spurs player gets booed by the entire stadium every time he touches the ball and gets even more booed when coming off.

I've called this out before and like you, received numerous down votes.

Let's look at the players constantly boo'd by our fan base

Sanchez
Ndombele
Royal
Sessegnon
Sissoko

Why aren't we booing Romero - he's been appalling and dumped us to play for Argies.
Why aren't we booing Kulu who seemingly has forgotten how to play football and cannot run?

Of course, we do hate on a lot of white players too - Dier, Winks. But I think it is fair to say that fan's patience with black players seems to be biased.

I don’t want to go all “old man yells at cloud” here, but I do think this is a generational problem.

I’d suggest the vast majority of supporters who think booing one of the teams players is acceptable, are early 30s and below. People who have grown up knowing instant gratification is possible. Always with a new phone, no need to save - just borrow, on demand music, TV, food, deliveries. People who didn’t grow up watching the grim football our mid table side played in the 90s and early 00’s. Those who just expect success as they should have what they want.

I recall when a misplaced pass was greeted with a shame of the head, a mutter of “oh for fuck sake Tramezanni” and a self deprecating chuckle. Now, a similar pass happens and you can see the fury of people springing to their feet, screaming at the player, veins popping everywhere.

I may well be wrong, but I’m just thinking back to who I see being most angry at matches and it isn’t the old fuckers like me in the majority. We also aren’t the ones singing songs against the ownership either. Maybe age brings patience?
I think you make a fair point. But the songs against the ownership are born out of 20 odd years of frustration (I think we’ve been pretty patient) and not quite the same thing as booing Davinson or Emerson.

forget his confidence taking a battering bla bla bla. i find it mad how much his body has changed in terms of the way he moves now. hes 26 and hes a million miles away from what he was when he was 20. hes far too stiff and rigid with the way he moves, youre always going to struggle if youre that stiff.

in this video hes fine, i wanna know what the hell has happened for him to be that fucking inflexible at the age of 26. its like hes had some serious ab injuries because his legs and torso seem to be disconnected.

he should of been sold as soon as gundogan had him eating grass, there was no coming back from that.

look how easy gundogan moves him aside when they initally come together!! gundogan has not even had to do much to move him out the way....should of been sold after this. fitting that he ended up eating grass like a donkey

Medical and Sports s science team needs overhaul at Spurs

I wonder if the sports science team have looked at why anchez falls over so often, (balance, lack of leg stength , wrong boots/studs)
he seems to fall more often than others

i can see how it looks like racism, we don't normally boo Dier and his defending mistakes of standing off and turning sidewards when they shot
I do remember us booing Dier at midweek game Leicester about 4 yrs ago
