I don't think people will be harsh on him. We've wanted academy kids to be given chances for a while now.

We all know he's not the finished product, so unlike Dier and Sanchez we can still hope that the next game will be better.

I think most people understand this. The fact is people say stupid things in the heat of the moment. Better than Sanchez making the same mistake for the X amount of time. At the end of the day Ledley made his debut at 18, so did Judas. Young players learn a lot faster when playing at the top level.

The fact is it probably the reason England do not have any decent CBs is because they do not play at the top level at a young enough age.

If Ange says the guy can play, then I believe him.

Prem experience is the most overrated attribute of all time. Richarlison, Bentley, Darren Bent. Ryan Nelson and Louis Saha.

Maddison isn't a top player because he's played 5 seasons in the prem, it's because he's quality. Likewise Bissouma.

Udogie (2), Vicario (2), Van der Ven (1), don't have much top flight experience either. Can they all play? Yes.
 
I never really understood the vitriol that was thrown at Davinson, I honestly didn't think he was that bad (not that great TBH, but did not deserve that level of abuse, IMO).
I wish him well in his next move and hope it works out for him, as others have said, he could have seen his contract out.

John Stones started his prem career at 19, Rio Ferdinand at 18, John Terry 19. Jonathan Woodgate 18

That's probably the 6 best English CB talents over the past 25 years. no coincidence

Joe Gomez was also on a similar trajectory, but injuries have done him in,

I get that. Agree 100%. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

That said, CB at 18 is a hell of a lot more of an ask than playing further up the pitch.

I love that Philips is involved. Just think there’s no harm in keeping Sanchez too, even if he’s behind Philips.

Is that true though? Plenty of players in recent years have suffered equal if not more abuse. Dier, Ndombele…what about Winks? One of our own but some proper abuse there
 
I’m no fan of Sanchez but how can we sell him without being able to bring in a replacement? Pure neglect by the club if this goes through.

Yep, Ledley and Judas are the examples I had in mind. Sometimes a quality young pkayer is goid enough. They make errors but unless it costs you a title or top four who cares.
