A couple very good wins have been achieved this season. Those teams were arguably either in very poor temporary form (man city), or with a reputation far bigger than their actual talent (man utd).
Ange has a interesting tactics that don't always work. He doesn't have the squad to make it always work, and the work he's done with the squad he has, has been handled poorly, which has made it harder to make his interesting tactics work.
He's not the first manager to want to play geigenpress football in the premier league. Generally the only teams that have been able to pull this off have had comparable or better outlay than their rivals on transfer and wages. Spurs have never shown a willingness to compete with sort of ambition. A better question for all is if Spurs are capable of winning with it as a club strategy. As it stands right now we are 15th in the table, and possibly could be 16th by the time of our next premier league match which takes place in February. That is incontrovertible.
I don't really read too much into what Kulu says here- he's obviously a club man and is going to always say these things. That's good and we want that- this man really never will say die whereas perhaps Maddison has.
Ange's system with underlapping fullbacks is a poor fit for a club with mainly inside cutting wingers. Only Odobert and Moore are creative wingers. Odobert is injured and Moore is 17(18?). Werner and Johnson are counter attacking forwards. Kulusevski is a CAM that has been played as an Italian 3-4-3 RF his whole career- that's why his instincts at the 10 are flawed right now.
It's disappointing to see folks still ignorantly bagging on this player. Simply being available to play consistently for Spurs is somewhat of an incredible feat. Glad he is getting a rest today.
