On some level I assume that there's a similar reason for why we until recently haven't had a lot of Italians. They have a big enough domestic league that they take pride in. And even if the PL pays more you can still make a good living playing back home so no need to move abroad.

He's had an awful second half to the season which I put down to being run into the ground during the first half of the season. Nearly every player has suffered injuries, drop in form, bad luck or a combo of all three. Hopefully returns to something like his best next season but for the here and now it might be a blessing he is out of the final. He was really struggling to impact games... the choice is simple now. Unless Bergvall is 100% (not 95%) then you go with Betancur in the 6, Biss in the 8 and Sarr as the 10 and I tell Sarr to fucking pull the trigger every time he can because their keeper is a clown.
 
Season over. Disappointing,like so many. A spurt of good form betwixt the mediocrity.

I think we will miss him more in the final because of absences to others, and by perception of what he may have done on the night, more than anything he had been producing.

Let's see if next season he can offer anything akin to a consistently high level.

He is sadly and tellingly not alone in that regard.

I think that Shotgunofmichalebrow Shotgunofmichalebrow has the right of it and our training is devoid of tactical periodization. When Ange says "We train how we play" he literally means it.
