Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I really dont think he will ever play top level football again unfortunately. Theres a chance he could maybe have a late resurgence but hes 26 and even if he returned to football this summer he will need a very very long time to even look remotely decent especially with the type of player he is.
I think the best he could hope for is a team in seria a (maybe como?) can offer him a home and somewhere to be patient enough.

Of course it does, because Joe Schmo on the internet has all the information on his medical situation.
Not sure what your point is ? No one wants the guy to do anything but recover and play, but it’s not at all unusual for a player with a significant knee problem who has been out of the sport for a year to have to retire. Hopefully not, but hardly unreasonable to point towards the possibility or probability.

retirement still looks like the most likely outcome for this chap.

"Most" likely?

Meh....

LOL.... Of course it is.

It's NOT the most "probable" outcome at all..... You're not basing this is anything other than (doomsayer) vibes.

Dejan Kulusevski is still aiming to be fit to play for Sweden at this summer’s World Cup.
Kulusevski has not played for Tottenham since undergoing surgery on a patella injury in May 2025, and last underwent further surgery on his knee in February this year. He is yet to return to training, and Roberto De Zerbi hopes the player is soon able to get back on the pitch for club or country.

"I'm sorry for him because he was one of my perfect players. He's a very specific player for me, like Kudus, like Romero,” De Zerbi said. “I hope he can play in the World Cup because the World Cup for a player is a moment. It's the best period of his career. But I don't know the situation very well."

Potential return date: June 2026

I think Bergvall posted a picture of himself and Deki on exercise bikes yesterday.
He may be closer to a return than is thought and while it's going to take him time to regain sharpness, I think the talk of him being finished is wrong.
Some people tend to think the worst and then anything else is a bonus. The fact he has missed over a season and likely more to come is concerning. I get it's a difficult injury but until you see him kicking a ball or doing something that looks remotely like running and turning then I guess the proof of life theory does indeed hold water.

Let's hope so. I'd be perfectly fine for him to be picked in Sweden's world cup squad and let them take the risk on giving him game time etc. Would be amazing if he could do that but I suspect the best hope is that he can do some preseason with us. Nobody knows his truthful condition but him I suspect.
