Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He is still good which he why he starts and gets good reviews with Argentina, but not a good fit for us.

Your statements that he is a better passer than Kane and a "threat to Kane as Spurs no. 1" which is why people are criticizing him are both ridiculous.

I guess if your is that when Kane retires Kulusevski could be better than him but as long as Kane is playing zero chance Kulusevski will ever be better.
For some reason I had a flashback to when we were utter shit under Mourinho and there were a load of social media posts with the team playing cricket.

Those were bad bad days

Good reviews this, good reviews that. You just refer to useless stats and reviews. You have no own opinion when it comes to football or when you have, it is stuff like Lo Celso is one of our best player. Now he is suddenly just not a good fit but if he was such a poor fit, why did you often call him one of our best performers? You contradict yourself.

But enough of this, you clearly how no ability to see quality. You can't even see what Kulu would bring even when other posters (not me) are trying to explain it to you.

No doubt he will be playing as an inverted winger. Conte just loves inverting positions.

We have had inverted wingers, CMs, wing backs.

I am looking at Dejan and one specific trait he has which if we use it will be potentially huge for us.
The kid can beat a man with a drop of the shoulder, or a spin/turn. He can dribble in tight areas and this is a trait we absolutely do not have currently. Lucas comes close but needs space to do it. Dejan can do it in tight areas.

So here is why that's important. No pressure but the kid might be the secret for us finally breaking down teams that sit back. Defenders aren't going to want to mess with him when he's running into the box. A dart into the box just messes with the defensive shape of the opposition. Theoretically it should create space on the left, but we have the issue of not having a midfielder that can switch the ball. Regardless I would be starting him in every game where the opposition are likely to just sit back.

I just hope we utilise this skill, because fuck me we struggle so much breaking down defences.

The plane was heading for Norwich a moment ago, thought we were going to suffer a serious gazumping again. It's now turned for Luton. Hoping they haven't been taken over by a billionaire.

You’ve just sold it to me!

I think he will be good for us.
He was on one of the only players list I have ever posted and we probably could have tried for at least another 2 of them this/next window in Digne and Zakaria.

Signings I'd like the most in order would be Denis Zakaria, a good right back, Jack Grealish, Lucas Digne, Dejan Kulusevski and probably Zaha.

...maybe a cheeky Zlatan for half a season.

We still need a good (attacking) right back, Grealish-like creativity and cover for Harry and tbh I would have been happy for Traore instead of Zaha, but they fucked that up too.

Why would anyone care what you explain to them? What makes your opinion carry any weight? I don't expect you to listen to me about Kulu, you rate him and that's fine. I don't, but don't start the bullshit about football IQ because some fans don't rate a player who has objectively flopped at Juve, isn't rated by most of their fanbase, and whose stock has fallen so low they're doing a loan to buy and seemingly we have zero competition.

He may well be great. I hope so. But this idea you and others are so much smarter and seeing this great footballers others don't have the capability to perceive is A grade bullshit. Utter nonsense. I guarantee I've watched more Juventus games than you have in the last 2 years, and I'd like you to sit here and tell me what you've seen from him (not from highlight packages) which makes you so smug in your assessment of the player.

Careful. Any positivity about this signing is frowned upon.

I mean when you outright lie..

His xA was 8 at Parma, 6 at Juve last season, and not even 2 this season. I dunno where people are getting their stats from, but that's extremely mediocre for a creative attacking player, so far from monstrous in any sense of the word.

Positivity is great. If people are happy with this guy then fine, but this play pretend game where we try and act like he's been something he just hasn't is just silly. He's been utter shit for 2 seasons, that's the bottom line. We are buying him in the hope he re-discovers the form he had in a single season at Parma.

Bumping what I said about him in the transfer thread awhile back, think he's well worth the punt. He'll be an improvement on any of our forward players in terms of creativity except Kane too, a nice option to have.

"Was unreal at Parma in 2019/2020 as a 19 year old, 10 goals and 8 assists in a midtable Parma side. To put into perspective how good he was, in the 2020 Golden Boy Award voting he finished sixth. Behind only Haaland, Fati, Alphonso Davies, Sancho, and Camavigna. He was ahead of Foden, Szoboszali, Saka, Vinicius Jr, Ferran Torres, Greenwood, and Gravenberch.

Juve then pays huge money for him, 40m plus incentives. He played a lot last year under Pirlo and did okay. Had 4 goals and 3 assists in 19 starts, in a relatively disappointing Juve season. Hasn't played as much this season under Allegri in an even more disappointing Juventus season. So it's a little hard to sort through what to make of his time at Juve as they've had two pretty poor seasons.

In terms of him as a player, he's a bit of a tweener. He's tall and well built without top end speed, but his main position has been RW throughout his career though he's also played up top and in a role behind the striker. With us, he'd compete with Moura for that right inside forward role, which I think he's well suited for, or could play up top in a 3-5-2. He's got a nice left foot and cuts in well from the wing and he's also pretty creative and racks up assists and key passes at a good clip.

If we were to go for him, you'd be betting on his pedigree as one of the most impressive and coveted young players in Europe only 18 months ago. We'd have never had a chance to land a player like him then, so you'd be buying low after he's been pretty mediocre at Juve. But Juve as a whole has also been mediocre. He's still 21 and doesn't turn 22 until late April, so far from a finished product.

I think it's a worthwhile gamble if we could flip Lo Celso or Ndombele for him. It's a disappointment for disappointment flip, but he's 4 years younger than those two and arguably had a higher pedigree. Think he'd be good competition for Lucas for now at worst, while offering something a bit different than Lucas does, with potential to be way more than that."
Juventus is recreating a new cycle: the team had too many players in some roles and few in others. And no number 9. Sales must be seen in this light: I'm sorry to see Kulusevski and Bentancur leave.

Only Ramsey would like him sent with a big kick in the ass.

On the forum of Juventus fans then you can read about everything: it is the good and the bad of a team with many fans, not all thinking heads.

xA of 8 and 6 are bad? We are more than halfway through the season and have only 3 players with xA over 3 (and just slightly).

The Juventus of the last two or three years has been a different, confused Juventus. Newcomers like Kulusevski paid a lot for the coach changes: Sarri, Pirlo and the return of Allegri. The transition to a different football was a failure. At Juventus the most important sentence is that of Boniperti (former player and former president): "Winning is not important, it's the only thing that matters"

xA of 8 is good. xA of 6 is mediocre. It's not monstrous or bad, it's just okay. We badly lack creative players so that doesn't surprise me at all. But last season Son's xA was 9.51 and he's hardly thought of as a great creative force.

If he comes here and puts up those numbers in the Prem, that's fine, he'll have done OK. But this league is a step up, no doubt, so you can expect those numbers to drop if we're being realistic. My issue is if we're claiming those are extraordinary numbers when they aren't.
