Other than seeming to pair really well together

Yeah .. I have my doubts about this signing, but one thing Kane needs is a player who is capable of picking a pass and also creating space by dribbling past players. If Kulu is what we're looking for, that'll help him and Son a lot to have another player who plays with his head up and can be trusted to do the technical stuff right most of the time.

I've watched this vid before (Think it's been posted a couple of times) and honestly it's a bit .. mediocre? There's a couple of nice moments and first time finishes, but nothing exceptional here really, and usually from a highlights package you're expecting something special.

My main issue with him (as noted) is whenever I've seen him he tries to slow play down too much. You won't get away with that against most teams in England, shit he hasn't really been getting away with it in Italy. I'm hopeful Conte will find a role for him where he has space to operate it, as the technical ability is there.

More hopeful than expectant. But thanks for your thoughts, it's good to get another perspective. Hopefully you're right and this just wasn't the right club for him at this point in his career.
Im surprised you’re putting so much effort into criticising a player you probably haven’t seen much of.

Earlier you were going for this silly « he’s been dispossessed more than any other Juve player » line which would make him juve’s Salah or Kane.

Now you’re talking about how he slows play down. I’m not saying you’re wrong. But there’s evidence in the highlight reels (obviously not representative of his general play) that he is at least capable of playing quickly - mostly by playing one touch. And he has the technical ability to pull that off. So given his age and the faith Conte seems to have in him, I think it’s a good signing.

Don’t get angry at me. Stay civil. I could be wrong after all and noone is able to say what will happen at spurs with any certainty. But it’s pretty tiring to see endless negativity bandied around. Save then negativity for things you have greater certainty about?

You have made me consider having a poached egg tomorrow.
I have got some week old lettuce and whoopsie bacon as well.
Bloody French and your bloody cooking..

Kulu may be a far better signing in January than Traore, if he can actually unlock packed defences. Our issue has been the bus tactic, and we lack creativity. Traore would be useful against top 6 contenders where he has space to run into.

We still desperately need a good RWB, but perhaps Doherty can do a job there for half a season.

only seen the youtube clips but looks to have good technical ability which we are in need of. could be a good player for kane to work with. like that him and bentancur are both over 6 foot, make us more physically imposing.

Except I have seen plenty of him. For both Sweden and Juventus. A good amount of games, more than enough to come to a reasonable conclusion. I've also listened to what fans who watch him on a weekly basis think of him. On top of that I've read/studied more detailed analysis of the player. What have you done, what do you know about him?

It wasn't silly, it's a fact. Do you have something to counter this factual statement? Being dispossessed a lot doesn't make you Salah, it just means you've lost the ball a lot. Salah loses the ball a lot because he plays at an extreme pace and tries a lot. Kulu loses it a lot because he has a tendency to slow the play too much and allow defenders time to tackle him. Joelinton is high up as one of the most dispossessed PL players, players lose the ball for different reasons.

Oh, the highlight reels? You want to talk about bad evidence and not watching the player and your assessment is based on highlight reels? He has technical ability, but he is slow, especially for a winger, and mentally he doesn't seem to process play very well. He takes too much time, too many touches. He reminds me of players from 10-15 years ago.

It could be a good signing. I hope it is. But it seems you think it's a good signing based on nothing else other than hope and optimism. I prefer to be honest based on what I've seen and heard, rather than pretend otherwise. And it's a football forum, so I'll give my opinion on the player the same way you will. I don't need to be pointlessly positive just because he's signing for us, I've said what I think, it's you and others who seem to be unable to cope with the fact people don't agree with this signing.

He seems like a guy that thinks a bit too much and is trying to over-do it.

Conte's gonna have to beat that out of him. The PL might help a bit too, you get put in a lot of stretched situations in the PL where you just have to react.

That’s my big hope. Conte is an asset and if he’s given his OK to the signing then I believe he has a plan & role for him which covers up his weaknesses.

I don’t see him playing on the wing in England though. He just doesn’t suit the profile at all, I only see him being utilised in a midfield role unless absolutely necessary.

Anyway, we’ll see.

....ahem, sorry for interrupting the flow...

I know I'm gonna sound like some '70s 'Boomer' who apparently now has no place at a football match any more, (and I'm taking one for the team here, 'cos no doubt I'll get ridiculed by all yooz kidz out there in Interwebs-land)
...but what in the flying fuck shit of Christ's cocksack is an xA ....and how come '6' of them are SOOOO much worse than '8'?
And WHY are people getting so irate about it all....?

Chillaxxxxx .... they're only numbers guyyyyyys!

....asking for a friend!!
A very fine series of questions, most eloquently put.
I’m very happy that it wasn’t just me wondering what an xA is & why 8 is great whilst 6 is shit.
BTW- did you get an answer? Can’t be arsed trawling through the cunt off.

Does he have to perform or does the team have to perform?

I thought it was us finishing in a CL spot which can do without him playing well.

I think if Paratici wasn't doing Juve a favor there is no chance the obligation price would be so high. No need to overpay that amount.
You say that, but I think clubs are cottoning on to how much they’ve been getting screwed on low obligations by clubs which buy them then flip them straight away. Psg with Lo Celso and Betis, Juve with Romero and us.

Juve are only putting in a price that, if he’s successful, is the going rate for a ping creative player who has shown he can do it at a high level (which will be the case of the loan goes well). In fact, at €35m, it’s still considerably cheaper. That’s just under £30m, which is around what West Ham paid for Benrahma off the back of performing in the championship at 5 years older.
