Not really sure what you are intending your audience to take away from this stat box...I have some ideas, the first of which is that Michael Olise went for 20M of Her Majesty's homegrown pounds whereas we are talking about paying 40M+ Euro for a, assuming this non-contextualized stat box is rank order, worse, foreign player. But I'd like to know what point exactly were you thinking of when you posted?

Three comparable players with comparable stats.

Kulusevski is the least typical/traditional winger of the 3, but the most expensive for some reason.

Seems like all of our wingers who did great last year is struggling this year....

Really don't get it... is it because of the formation or what? Something seems off....
Opposition defences have worked him out. He's playing on the right and is very left- footed.

Defenders have worked out that he is likely to try and cut inside so as to use his stronger foot. So, use one of your midfielders to blockthat route. His options then are to pass it sideways or back or cross from the edge of the area.

The defender's other option is to show him the touchline and force him to cross with his weaker right foot.

For me, Sonny is struggling because he is being asked to be more of a footballer rather than an attacking weapon. Sonny with the ball at his feet is not the same player as Sonny running off the shoulder of his defender. Imagine asking CRonnie to play the Messi role...it's just a mismatch of tactical remit and skillset...the manager's problem. It has surprised me that folks have been so quick to write him off when they stayed true to Dele for so long after he wasn't even remotely useful.

For Kulu, along with folks like Deuterz Deuterz and a few more I fully expected this and don't expect it to get any better unless the manager can devise a plan to afford him space that his skillset cannot garner. Folks won't like this but I truly hope his struggles continue so we don't make his move permanent and for the next 5 seasons be wondering "what's wrong with Kulu" because the answer is already there for those to see. But as Château NoHo Château NoHo might agree, I fully expect this xfer to become perm irrespective of these warning signs.

But that aside, yeahhhhhhhhhhhh, we are the new Stoke looking for set pieces and pens...warms my heart.
It's told me something.

When George Graham attempted to win with percentage football at Spurs he was driven out.

Conte is doing the same thing and is regarded as an 'elite' manager. When he is here of course.

Old school Spurs supporters must be in a significant minority regarding match attendance.

Yea.. too many haters here.

But why would Conte do this when he was successful last season...

The Ginger Swedish Pillock had better play well this weekend

I like Sonny and respect his commitment to our club. Shame folks can turn on him so quickly...

The one answer I can come up with is to get HK closer to goal/s. I'd assume the plan in pre-season was to sure up the MF and improve service to and interplay between our attackers and thus obviate the need for HK to drop into MF. Well, that has not been totally successful and HK has been dropping a bit more lately but his goals are up there as Deuterz Deuterz never fails to remind about.

But that's just spitballin...

On topic though Kulu is what he’s always been. A good footballer who was on a hot streak last season where he massively exceeded xG and xA. Now he’s reverting a bit more to the norm, as they all do unless you’re a Messi or Ronaldo. And he ain’t.

I like him, think mentally he’s great and given time and space he can carve teams open. But he’s got physical drawbacks which mean that in tight spaces he struggles to influence matches.

Problem is Kane has the same struggles and so does Son to a certain extent. So we end up with a front 3 which can batter you 5-0 in the right circumstances but also be totally ineffective in others.

Are you scolding me or Spurs tactics?

I do not approve of our 'set piece kings' crown.

It's just the most likely way Spurs score these days.
Not scolding at all! ( a very quaint and underused word in my view).

Playing for corners is not what good teams do. They try and score. Good wingers try to cut the ball back from the touchline thus rendering all attackers on side. The attacker can then connect with the ball almost head- on and with greater force.
Defences have worked out Kulusevski and come up with plans to reduce his threat. Force him to come inside where he'll meet a midfielder or show him the touchline so he'll cross with his weaker foot.

Sounds like Conte is sacrificing the wingers to play Kane up front?

Seems like the dumbest thing ever?
