Play him at 10 behind Kane/Richy with runners either side and we'd be blasting the mid to lower table again in no time. The man says he is best as a 10- we should trust him on that. I strongly believe all of our players look significantly worse in this anemic, barren and depressing system of ours, and Kulu is no exception. Was really terrible tonight.
But he’s an intelligent player and not playing in an intelligent system.
Why he is always the furthest one forward, I can’t understand. He’s a far better presser than son… surely son should be furthest forward.
this is the logical solution that any mug who watches would come up with yet this cunt on 15m a year has not even tested it once! the football is beyond boring it actually makes you fucking angry.Play him at 10 behind Kane/Richy with runners either side and we'd be blasting the mid to lower table again in no time. - Kulu: He's not the quickest, but can beat a man with the right pass/head start. Slowness of build up and being stuck so far forward is what's killing him IMO..... I think he'd have to evolve a bit before being a successful #10 in the prem.
Yes- he's slower- which means his lack of quickness/speed/range is less problematic playing through the middle. His size will be more of an asset as well. I understand your concerns but trust Kulu will be fine as a 10 with little adjustment needed. He would need some minutes to build a rapport with our CDMs/8s though, so yes we should not expect that change to be immediately successful.
Yeah I would not be upset if we continued with a back 3 post Conte. The problem with Conte isn't the formation. I believe the problem is the tactics and his robotic system. It just isn't working with these groups of players, especially KulusevskiConte aside; I'd rather trust a manager's judgement than a young players own tbh...... For a 21 year old who'd already floundered at Juve; so to be declaring his best position at his age is essentially alluding to his teenage years...... He's still learning!
My concern is we have a really odd blend of players for this high energy football that our fans want to see:
- Kane: Still quality, but can't sustain a press and if you drop him deeper he's required to even more.
- Kulu: He's not the quickest, but can beat a man with the right pass/head start. Slowness of build up and being stuck so far forward is what's killing him IMO..... I think he'd have to evolve a bit before being a successful #10 in the prem.
- Richy: Obv best suited to #9 but will do an honest shift at LW too. Again not fast.
- Son: Struggling. Maybe a system re-jg will help that, but his legs are going regardless.
- Romero: Not entirely encouraged he'll thrive in a back 4.
- Porro, Udogie, Spence: Defending not their strong point.
People won't like me saying so, but TBH, I think 3412 or 352 (with 2 x #8s) would still require the least amount of squad surgery for next season...... Primarily 2 kick-ass CBs and an injection of energy and quality into our attacking options (the prospect of which we're not getting the chance to see from Danjuma thanks to Conte).

There are many, many managers who play attacking pressing football with a back 3 formation. Even Poch did exactly this occasionally. I won't forget that beautiful 3-0 win over Dortmund for example.
Eight of these players were elite. We are much closer to the Pochettino team that featured Mason Bentleb and whoever the centerback was before Toby arrived.Hugo
Dier / Toby / Jan
Walker / Vic / Dembele / Rose
Eriksen / Dele
Kane
.........Was the best Poch.
433 might still work if we can firm up the defense properly, but I don't fancy 4231 with the current crop and the re-fit required would be massive...... Reckon it would require a 2nd summer.
I can't see a world were Poch wouldn't like a hard working creative player like Dejan.is he a Poch type player? maybe Poch might want to play him in the Eriksen role behind the striker and bring in a more direct player? maybe poch might not want us to make it permanent?
MehEssexyido94 ...none of them were great tonight.....
We're a shambles from 9 months ago....
Kulu, Son, Kane were ripping it up... Wtf happened?
I can't see a world were Poch wouldn't like a hard working creative player like Dejan.
From the same guy that has said so many times, in one guise or another, that Poch can't spot a player. I can't see a world where the ironically name ShutUpPatrik knows what he's talking about. Is this book self-published? Can't imagine anyone else would waste money on it.Kulusevski... ...scream poor managenent to me, so ultimately it's system and motivation in my book.
