Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

One version of deal to transfer to Spurs :

The option will remain valid the following summer unless the second clause – a €35m mandatory buy clause – comes into play. That will be activated at the end of the 2022-23 season if two conditions are met during the campaign: that Kulusevski plays in 50% of the team’s Premier League matches for at least 45 minutes, and Spurs qualify for the Champions League.

Currently at 17 games this season with at least 45 minutes so would only need 2 more in the remaining 10 games for that bit of the condition

I can definitely see levy aiming to get us fifth just to not be obligated to buy Dejan.

Then, when we don't and he leaves, we buy ndombele 2.0 for twice as much money the following summer to replace him, with an impressively bad result, even for Levy standards.

Kukusevski is a Spurs player and that's great news. Guy is an assist machine. One of 2 genuinely creative players at the club. Needs to stay fit next season though. Hopefully with a manager prepared to actually rotate his players.

Now, does anyone want to regale us with this player's qualities at this moment? I know folks like me, those that don't truly recognize this player's WC ability because we are football dumb, don't appreciate him but for those of you that really understand the sport feel free to chime in here. I'd love to see what you see and know what you know. Help the needy and then I can be as happy as you that we will be locking this future problem in so that we can constantly wonder what's wrong with Kulu.

Its not just him this season though.

After going 3-4-3 with Conte system this year, all of our wingers have been pretty much shit....

Plus, its not like Kulu and Son were known for tracking back or anything before...

We just have to let them play in a system where they can shine.

Conte was a stubborn cunt that always wants it his way or he becomes a little cunt and start causing drama..

Mourinho used our forwards the best way possible.

...but he is the only one I'm concerned with in the Kulu thread so let's constrain any convo to that.

Good players can shine in any system. Those that cannot are the definition of 'system players' and they are not a priority...especially as a foreign player.
That is not true. Some can do it and some can't.

Just because a player can't shine in one system doesn't mean they are a bad/system player...

No, there might be a setup that doesn't cater to a player's skillset but any good player can still show their quality in ANY setup. But players that can only show quality in 1 system is by definition a system player, a goldilocks player...like Dele...and Kulu. A real player can provide his own space and time...Kulu cannot.

Well, there is no evidence that he can't do good on other formations. He has only been here for less than 2 seasons in which one of them he was outstanding....Its just that this seasons 3-4-3 is not working... actually none of our wingers had a good season in this formation and that tells you something.

No, but there is evidence that he can't do it in this setup nor the different ones at Juve...which is why he's here. Additionally, there is no evidence that he CAN do it in any other tactical setups either. You keep holding out hope though...Juve fans told us, I told ya, and a few others said the same thing about him. His play last season was the same except he scored a few goals.

It wasn't! NOnsense hyperbole.

ctually none of our wingers had a good season in this formation and that tells you something.
Yeah, that they have limited skillsets with limited tactical application...but we've know that with Sonny ans some of us have known it about Kulu.

No real need to keep going back and forth on this one. You're going to need more time to accept what is in front of you. I can appreciate that. But you'll come back to these words "we must not make this move permanent".

I mean our best stuff, such as it was, came down his side tonight.

He's got technical quality and is comfortable and keen to exploit playing in tight quarters. He's an extremely useful Premier League attacking player.

He also links up with other players and provides them opportunities and space, and he's the youngest of our regular contributors. It would be a serious mistake to let him get away. The marketplace is not offering better or more certain deals than Kulu for 35 million Euro, you are just not living in reality to think otherwise.
