Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

With Ange's system we play positional play so no-one really has a set position in attack, only defence.

The good thing about players playing in multiple positions is that they can rotate positions, I can actually see a world where Maddison and Kulu play in the same team and interchange.
A bit how we played Erikson as a right winger and dele as a 10.

They were both rw/10s and rotated throughout.

I love the way he was low-key roughing up the Newcastle players throughout.

Funny how after he first arrived, he himself said he was best as a 10 (CAM). Many of us advocated for that (based on his own words) and were told by a bunch of idiots on here that he'd never cut it in that role. Well- what do you think now, hoes?

It's true that he's not as good of a fit at RW, and especially as one that is supposed to play very wide as in Ange's system, but he's still decent enough to do a job for us there. His best role on the right is as an in-cutting RF with an overlapping fullback behind him, like he was able to play at Parma.

It's shocking this guy struggles to get as much love as Ben Davies from our fans on here, yet is far more instrumental to our successes. I look forward to employing him and Madders in a double 10 system at some point in the future.

He's the hero that Tottenham deserves. A silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight. He’s Gingerman.

(a classic from my youth, and doubly relevant here!)

One reason why he was better as a RWF under Conte was the he then always had an overlapping RWB to support him and double up on defenders. But now, under Angelos, Spurs' RB rarely overlaps, so Kulusevski is left alone with opposition defenders, and thus he's far less effective as he lacks that explosive burst of pace. And defenders are also now well aware of how dangerous he is when he cuts inside (and shoots), so it's (much) harder from him now to get past them with his rather limited tricks and being left alone with wide defenders.

I think Ange's system has looked much much better when the wingers are on their strong side or at least with Son being so both-footed on the left.

Deki has been playing there because it was his most recent position and the plan was also built around Maddison in the 8/10 role.

Now Ange has seen him in that central role in this system, I doubt he can unsee it. I definitely can't. What a beast of a player.

MoM for me, with Ben a close second. Tireless off the ball, strong on it. So glad to see him lace that goal with his right foot too, needs more of that.

Here's to the Osimhen-inspired mask streak continuing :kulushock:
