Lazy defender who if he doesn’t change his ways will get left behind. The way he jogs about while defending drives me insane. I blame the manager and players for not fucking roasting him every time he does it. Funny how he can sprint with intent when he is pressing higher up the pitch or carrying the ball.
He’s the one more than anyone who disappoints me.
He has all the tools in terms of height,physicality,pace but that’s not enough if he doesn’t have the desire and pride to be a good defender first and foremost. Could be a top player or fade away.

very poor defender. im under the impression its his on the ball thats meant to be good, im yet to see that too. far too relaxed and offers sweet fuck all. even his simple passes are lazy and untidy.
This is a player being asked to do too much. Back from a serious injury in a team with an almost negligent regard for defending and keeping clean sheets. Stick him in a side with a class 1v1 wide left player in front of him and stop asking him to constantly go forward in that inside left channel. I honestly think its not coincidental that none of the back four not one of them is defending well. That doesn't happen by chance. They are all making nearly identical errors Mickey was the hold out now he is dropping them too. It's a real concern. Who is responsible for coaching our defence, anyone know?
Pretty much the only player I felt came out with any credit today - appreciate it was a low bar. At least he was positive and always fighting.
He's too young and very error prone, but he always gives his best. Said that Bentancur was good to, scored and was everywhere on the pitch.
Because he is young and playing his third full season also back from a very bad injury. AND he is being over played because of horrific squad management. He needs coaching that he is clearly not getting. NONE of the defence is playing well that's not an accident.
The only one who consistently looks decent is VDV and that’s because he’s a freak athlete with freak pace to cover for gaps. And having to do it so often is leading him to hamstring injuries.
And even then he’s still having bad games where he is being exposed.
hes not a good player, his position should be under threat. all he wants to do is control the ball with the outside of his foot. no desire to defend and no cutting edge with the ball as he wants to look good rather than produce substance. hes the complete opposite to porro.
There was a time he had a simple pass to play in his captain and he cut inside and just tap tapped it infield. Son has been terrible this season but I’m unsure if it’s his decline or because udogie just doesn’t play him in early
dont know if i would put sons game directly down to udogie but it defo doesnt help. udogie literally offers us nothing going forward and defensively hes very poor. he just wants to 'look' neat and tidy all the time.
He’s good going forward, he carries the ball superbly in the middle third but he needs to be coached to simply zip it into or in front of the winger at times
what makes him good going forward? you just said yourself that he missed an opportunity to put son in? hes good going forward because he can dribble with it 25 yards? good going forward to me is someone who actually offers us danger going forward and can create something threatening...when does udogie do that? compare that with porro who can not only score goals in and around the box but can also put the ball in the box with quality and can play forward passes that sets people into dangerous areas....udogie is nothing like that.
He had a chance there tonight as he carried forward to keep going and problaly would have got through on goal but he stopped to walking pace and played a simple pass and city got the defence back and chance was gone. He definatly needs a kick in the hole.
All he should be doing in training is learning how to pass early and add variety to his passing.

It’s his final decision making that needs the work, he often gets the ball and storms forward and he’s an absolute bulldozer… but then he uses some iffy decision making and passes it to an opponent or corners himself.
Key is, he’s young enough that if he’s developed he could be a real asset. I do think he would benefit from some competition mind.
