Do you not think a 22 year old can be coached how to defend better if he has the basic fundamentals?
Yeah definitely. I don’t think he has the fundamentals of aspects of defending though. 1 vs 1 he’s good when someone is running at him - aerially weak, and just doesn’t block and cover gaps and clear danger. Walker was similar to be fair and had a half decent career so you might be right ;-)

Yeah fair - he never zips a pass into an attacker early, always tap, tap, tap pass but he carries it well and is comfortable on the ball

we need far better, spence has shown him up playing at LB. better athlete, better use of the ball, better defender..

Can’t make judgments on players like him until we get someone who knows how to coach. He has been encouraged to charge forward - with a bit more sensible coaching there’s a decent player there
He has absolutely no awareness of what is going on around him and where he is supposed to position himself , he basically just opened the door for Salah a few times today . Ball watches for goals and then looks around HUH what just happened .
