Player Destiny Udogie

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He had a couple really good games when he came back from injury but has turned rubbish again. I think he's got ability but we can't seem to get it out of him for whatever reason.

Also, like too many of our players, he's not reliable enough at the fundamentals. Lots of sloppy touches, slightly misjudged passes, miscontrols, etc.

Feels like a lot of our players are regressing when Frank's whole thing was supposedly coaching and improving players which is worrying.

Thought he was horrific again tonight. Time to cash in and try get a decent fee but anyone coming to watch him would just be horrified at what they see. Can’t defend, can’t attack, can’t cross, can’t pass and constantly looks lethargic.
Juve, Inter, AC, even Roma...they'd take him for 15 odd mil. Maybe a loan (with obligation) first, soon as the windows opens.

But more likely we'll give him a new, juicy contract. Mediocrity is rewarded at Spurs.

Not a very good LB. Can get it up the pitch well but doesn't have the shooting, crossing or football IQ to create consistent chances. Short-lived synergies with Odobert aside.

Neither is Porro a very good RB. Both average defenders. They're better suited in a back 5 bombing forward at a less physically imposing league.

Yeah. It felt like for a minute under Ange we might be able to convert them into top quality full-backs but seems like the original fear - that we'd bought a bunch of wing-backs and shoe-horned them in as full-backs - is starting to come true.

I do think he might be really effective if the system was set up to play to his strengths, but as a straight LB he's pretty bang average. Same for Porro, really.

I still maintain the raw talent is our squad is quite good, and Destiny is no different. As with others, he needs 1-2 seasons of consistent and sensible coaching. Seems like Frank has very much neglected our offensive needs so far this season. It's all very disappointing.

He and Porro aren't average defenders. They're poor defenders. Who also produce very little offensively.

Not top 4 players, let alone guys who can win a proper title.

That's generally been my POV but I'm starting to lose faith a bit this season. Hopefully either Frank or the next guy will prove you right.

Jesus Christ.... Just can't catch a break can we....?

What was it, 2 days of relative happy Spurs world...?
Better than the 20 minutes we've been used to.

Farewell Destiny...

When's the funeral ??

Said last year as many others - if these starting players continue to just pick up injury after injury AGAIN under a new manager without the Angeball madness we need to make some serious decisions on them.
Hes not a good enough player to justify keeping around if injured all the time. We absolutely need to buy a starting left back ASAP.
VDV and Romero seem to be good physically this year so far which I guess is far more vital but the likes of Maddison, Solanke and this guy need to be sold if they can't stay fit.

Just like it was under Poch, I think the trend of "high intensity" football that we had under Ange (lost of sprinting and so on) just does a number on players.
Wouldn't shock me if we had a bunch of players under 25 that now have the bodies of 33 year olds

About this. There was a Celtic fan that said it took the Celtic squad a full season after Postecoglou for the injuries to fully subside. He said the training caused long time term soft tissue problems that were not immediately resolved. I haven't a clue if any of this is true but he was the bloke who came in when we were flying and loving big Ange instead and said..."Enjoy the hamstrings". I recall this vividly because I thoroughly abused him.
