Player Destiny Udogie

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

On a side note, I think he's lost a yard with all these injuries.

When he first arrived from Udinese I remember thinking he looked legit rapid but now he's kinda 'generic PL fullback quick'. Far from slow but certainly not a speedster.

Defintely lost a couple yards.

Very noticeable.

Made some nice runs last night tbf to him.

Just super limited and not reliable at the back and needs to go.

Must upgrade.

I would take him over Andy fucking Robertson any day of the week though. Fuck knows what we’re thinking replacing an injury-riddled player like Destiny with Robbo.

There is zero chance De Zerbi will be wanting to move Destiny on if we stay up.

I swear some of you lot don't listen to what our managers actually say. In his first presser De Zerbi name checked Porro, Romero, VDV and Udogie as the core of the team. Crucial to build up play. Of those only VDV is a possibility to move on if we stay up because of his contract situation.

The only way any of the others move on is if we get an over the odds offer from some club and that seems unlikely at this stage. At best we'll sign Andy Robertson as cover.

Time to deal with reality. It ain't Football Manager 26.

Great result, but it has to be said he was poor for their goal, RDZ has clearly drilled into them the importance of stopping crosses coming into the box and today was the best i've seen from porro in that regard. However, the goal comes from Udogie not stopping a cross coming in, it doesn't help when he's trying to block the cross with the wrong foot! trying to block it with his left foot when it's his right foot that has far more of a chance in that situation at stopping the cross!
Thats incredibly harsh, he was 1v1 vs fresh legs and he pressured the guy who stepped completely away from goal and swung in a very good cross. You cannot stop every single cross coming in its impossible.

Pretty poor tonight. He's trying to get in those inside forward areas, which is nice in theory, but he's just not got the technique to really do much when the ball does get to him.

Think losing a yard really hurt his game - he's weaker as a 1v1 defender now and also can't seem to win a footrace going forward. The fact he can't cross, shoot and isn't an especially good passer means that losing that physical edge hurts him more than most.

He did have 1 or 2 really decent performances mid-season where he looked properly sharp but those are few and far between sadly. And it's obvious we can't rely on the guy to be in peak physical condition.

Suspect he'll still be here next season, regardless of what division we're in, but he's one we should be looking to move on from I think. His limitations plus the injuries make him a bit of a waste of space.

Won't happen because we've got too many cucks on the board, but if a player isn't good enough, get rid. Udogie hasn't shown anything in two seasons. He needs to go.

At the very least he needs to be pushed back to second in line and replaced with a new LB. So, in short I fully expect him to still be our starting LB next season.

Yeah I think we've got a bad habit of holding on to middling players with potential for far too long in the hope they'll suddenly explode into life. If they haven't noticeably improved after 2-3 seasons and are getting into their mid-20s that's the perfect time to cut our losses.

2 years ago I was really pleased we got Udogie and Sarr to sign new deals, but neither have pushed on and I think we need to be looking to move them on.

I reckon we'll keep Udogie as we're just so light at LB anyway, but Sarr needs to go this summer.
