I'm less certain about this, partly because I think we have a lot of bodies there and I don't see the club being willing to stockpile more unless we get some shifted, which will be difficult to do whilst they are not showing anything of value for us. Partly because I don't trust the club to identify and go out and actually get players that are definitely of a higher calibre than those we currently have, however easy we might suggest it should be.
Mainly though, because as it stands, I don't think it matters all that much if we do go out and get unquestionable upgrades, the way we are playing there's every chance those players would come in and also provide F-all, as they simply won't see the ball or any opportunities to capitalise on.
It's really easy to look at the current bunch and write them of as hopeless, but the reality is they aren't fluffing situation after situation or chance after chance. We're so passive, slow, and disjointed looking that they're feeding off scraps. I'm not kidding myself into thinking that they're all great, but I don't think they're near as bad as they are being made to look by whatever it is that the team is stepping onto the pitch trying to achieve.
Any player coming into the side to change things around would have to be an absolute superstar to actually manage it.
