Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Austin and Whitman will not see a second of game time. At least use the free hits as way to reward players like Hall and some of the k8ds for how good they have been. Anyway with Odebert out suspect he will add Spence. Actually can he mate?

The kids can play, regardless. The likes of Hall, Lankshear Moore, Black etc. Don't need registering.

Unfortunately cannot add Spence now until Feb when registration opens back up annoyingly.

He should get minutes ahead of Werner on the wing too, if he doesn't get minutes in the full back positions.

With 38 PL games, a minimum of 8 games in EL before knock out stages plus a couple of domestic cup games, it seems likely Spurs will play a minimum of 50 games - and maximum if go deep in all competitions is 69 games. So 60 ish games is perfectly possible

I doubt if any player is going to play 90 mins in each of 50 games or hopefully 60+ games, Porro and Udogie are more likely to plat more like 40 .odd games.

So Spence has every chance of playing at RB and LB where Porro and Udogie don't play (and I'd guess they play in almost EL games due to limited options of covert) for circa 20-40 games this season at RB/LB.

Sure Gray may play some games at RB (and even CB too) but with the CM's also having a game load of 50-60 games this season, I think Gray will have his game time largely filled in CM (and maybe CB) so limited opportunities to play RB.

But ultimately if Spence performs as he did v Coventry, its likely he'll play a decent number of games at RB/LB plus ad hoc appearances in other positions where we are short due to injuries etc.

Spence looks to be the kind of FB that Ange actually wants making inside runs. Great game for him overall, great goal, and looking forward to seeing more of him. I agree with Tommo he could even be a good candidate for minutes at winger with his pace, power and willingness to run at his man. He really is a tier 1 athlete.

From what I've seen he loves to cut inside.

He's not a Walker-style touchline hugger.

How come so many of our players are struggling after injury? Maddison, udogie, bentancur, richy... maybe there's others.

Udogie is literally just back and had virtually no pre-season.
Bentancur & Richy were re-injured.

It's pretty typical for players to struggle after injury tho'; partly due to the fact that it's momentum that got them to the level we wish to see them return to in the first place.

For sure, players will usually struggle a bit after injury. Some of our guys seem to still be way off their best even months later. Maddison should be plenty fresh by this stage. Maybe we're just a bit crap at the moment and that's exacerbating their sub optimal performances 🤷

The severity of injury will also play a part.... Van Dyke was pretty shit for a year after his injury...... And realistically you wouldn't have expected Bentancur to be much different...... And that was before that dirty cunt Cash took him out a week after his return.

I'd focus on Maddison cos the other's mentioned speak for themselves tbh.... On the whole I'd say Maddison has looked better this season; but yeh he was crap agains the scum.
