Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The squad got too young, too fast, after Kane left. You can't blame 22 year olds for not approaching the game the same way 27 year olds do, but it does make a case for adding some experience. The worst thing now would be another change in manager. It sends the message, "We were here when he came and we'll be here when he leaves." The issue of van de vyn and Spence not clapping for the away fans is, I think, significant as possibly a symptom of a deeper issue of entitlement. It's a problem that comes with youth and wealth, but how far it can be tolerated is a reasonable question. Maybe Spence's behavior is context that explains why an authoritarian manager like Conte didn't rate him. Here in the US there's an old joke about baseball players who get traded away despite obvious talent. "Addition by subtraction".

Wow. I am surprised.
Surprised about the reactions here.

Sure, he was not superb yesterday. Buuut... not a single player was really. Literally - no one shone yesterday.
I would not say that Spence was any better or any worse.

But I mean to sub off Djed Spence .... for Ben Davies (?!?) while being 0:2 behind? What the fuck. I am not vouching for being bit of cnut to the manager but that move was absolute WTF moment to everyone. I love Benny Davies, I really do. But to put him on as a LB in THAT SPECIFIC SITUATION is just ... absurd. So I don't mind Djeds recation actually. Djed was all of us at this point in time.

I do like how Benny told vicario to fuck off S soon as he came on. Vic didn’t call for the ball and Benny put it out. Vic is a wanker!

Cant' blame him why he was pissed off with Frank for subbing him off, he was arguably our best player, he was winning his duels and contesting at least - when he saw his number come up and replaced with Ben Davies he has a right to feel aggrieved
He gave up the ball a few times and just dawdled back watching on without giving any effort to recover.

That’s what I reckon he was pulled for.

Yea, more of our players should do that, totally agreed.

The guy is often like this car dealership mascot with wavy hands and body, waving them at anyone. With or without reason. Given his own performances he should be one of the last to do any of that.

25 year old man Djed Spence is gonna be referred to as a bright prospect well into his 30s isn't he???

Spot on this is why I say the coaching is now critical. He has 18 months to improve the ceiling of his game which could be quite high. But times up. Rightback only, serious daily sessions on his weakness in the system we want to play and a massive boot in the arse. Playtime over.

Same with VDV younger but still needs so much work he is shit in the air reads the game poorly and is too reliant on his after burners. They won't get there coasting like they are. I remember Ledley massively jumping Forward as a centerback after Naybet schooled him. I dont quite remember his age.

Apparently some think he thinks he is better than what he is.
Well that would be very good indeed,
By no means perfect. His decision making could be well improved.
