Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Honestly I do think Solanke has been overplayed and tired players move differently sometimes. Injuries happen when players are in “Red Zones”.

It’s criminal that a senior forward didn’t come in sooner tbh
Yeah i know if only the manager could play a centre forward that scored away to galatasaray against a 5th tier team. You sick of out of the blue supporting ange yet. Like youre being paid by the club all of a sudden

I get this; but reportedly he did little more than slip when taking a shot..... Could happen to anyone at any time.

..............People are just keen to weaponize this to bolster their fave narrative(s) (suprise suprise).

Lankshear hasn’t started a PL game. He hasn’t started a Championship game. He hasn’t started a League 1 game. He started a EL and scored then got sent off.

The kid needs experience on loan not to be relied on as a PL striker because we are too cheap to buy one

Grand its not from being over played or having to come on against tamworth and play 60 min on a shit pitch. Its our manager been so good at his job that were fucked from every angle

If he'd (eg) pinged a hamstring your assumptions might be a bit more founded.

However; if you can't see past Ange-rage and avoid strawmanning me then lets park this.

No one needs to weponize anything the results are so damning and the volume pf injuries so extraordinary it's obvious the coaching is to blame.

Howe had a killer spate of injuries last season.
Iraola currently has 9 missing.
Klopp ran the fuck out of his best 13/14 players for years.

....People here covet those guys though.

Look, regardless, all I'm saying is; 101 pinged hamstrings I get it. However; the circumstances surrounding Solanke sound pretty innocuous........ People evidently aren't interested in that though. Just like they were insistent on claiming that Romero's comeback injury was a 'relapse' even though it was different problem. Vic's fracture wasn't coaching related either.

Don't dare blame the manager for this one, he's been very vocal about needing support this window for Dom and the transfer commity hass its fingers up its own arse.

He had no choice but to play Solanke, Lankshear is clearly nowhere near ready. You all would have crucified him for resting Solanke for a kid that isnt ready.

This is all Levy
Ange had half a season to at least get Lankshear into form and give him a bit of development just in case this sort of thing happened. He didn't. There was an opportunity for Lankshear to push on from the Galatasaray game where he broke his duck, and Ange instead inexplicably has hidden him away on the bench since then.

A better manager would have handled all of this more capably.

I never mentioned Solanke. But the hamstring injuries were a feature of his tenure at Celtic we were warned. Klopp whataboutery is utterly pointless. I kept trying to point out the football has changed that early Pep Klopp teams are years out of date but the tacticos still haven't woken up to the fact.

Bournemouth we should not be talking about comparable resources. Oh and the reasons people aren't interested is because Ange is a terrible coach whose tactically inept and who's stupidity has been enabled by certain people making endless excuses for him in the face of all logic. I think you are a remarkable man Airfix utterly tone deaf. Do you understand why people don't want to hear this pathetic defence of the fool they saw in the BBC interview 🤔

Solanke got injured hitting a shot in training. That could happen any day at training but some will blame the manager for that. There’s so many things to have a go at Ange for but Solanke’s freak injury is not anyone’s fault.

I didn't make any "excuses" for him and have my own strong misgivings about him tactically.

So, politely; you can shove the last part.

TBF though, the point some are making on this thread is that he has been overplayed. Which is part on Ange, and part on Levy.
He has been overplayed but if he’s at training feeling fine then all of a sudden he gets a freak injury then there’s no way you can blame anyone for that. These things happen.

For as much as I despise our situation and how Ange is being a stubborn fucker I will be aiming so much of my anger at Levy because he refuses to treat this club like a masdive football club. He’s treating it like a massive business. We are Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Maybe before shooting practice they were all practicing Ange's press and Solanke had fatigued himself there, then actually suffered the knee injury in the shooting practice?

Should we believe that Ange has exceptionally bad luck with injuries? Or should we maybe consider his "bad luck" to perhaps be something he has a direct part in?

Between the medical team and what we know of Ange's training methods and tactics, do you really think that there is no link whatsoever between Ange's methods and the amount of injuries we have sustained?

Its completely fair to suggest Ange's training and tactics create higher amounts of injuries. What would be irresponsible is using tactics that sacrifice the health of your squad to the point where it can barely function anymore.

Maybe Solanke's individual injury was a freak injury. Well, that doesn't mean the rest of the injuries sustained were also freak injuries. Looking very broadly at the issue we can see that something relating to Ange has resulted in our absolute worst injury crisis in years. Don't you think it would be naive to discount the very real (imo likely) possibility that Ange has had a hand in his own squad fitness problems?

I disagree with your first statement for the obvious reason that an overplayed player will still be at training if needs must (and needs must right now). Ange has pretty much admitted players are overplayed?

Fitness/condition isn't binary ... perfect or crocked. An overplayed player will generally be more susceptible to injury, be it in training or matches.

Agree with your second statement 100%
