Regarding his finishing can some elaborate please.

He had a diving header, he done some excellent movement to get back onside for that to even be a chance.

A header from 15 yards out. That he needs to create power from.

And a shot he had to create his own space for himself.

Not one of them is a given, harsh crowd.

Yeh I’ve noticed this weird logic of he scored 19 for Bournemouth and they’re shit so he’ll score more for us.

Football doesn’t work like that unfortunately. If he gets 19 in the league for us I’ll be staggered.

Peeps have been brainwashed into thinking 20+ goals is a benchmark for all decent STs in the EPL.... You even hear pundits chatting about "all [insert bottom half club] needs is a 20 goal striker and they'll be flying"; as if 20g STs are common and they'll jump at the chance of playing for Fulham or Wolves etc...... It's fucking bullshit.

Even 15 non-pen goals is a fucking good season so long as you can contribute to the rest of the game (press, bring others into play, a few assists). It's rare that more than a couple of STs break 20 goals each season..... even with pens.

You spelled "proper dickheads" wrong.

I thought he was decent, he had half chances that I feel like we are used to our strikers finishing because we had 9 years with the best striker on the planet. Linked up well and brought others into play and I think made our attack flow a bit better, but funnily enough the moment that sold me wasn't anything to do with him - it was when Richarlison missed that header. Straight away went, 'yep, that's why we needed another 9'.

I thought he had a decent game for the most part. He’s not a fantastic finisher, even last year he was around his xG (maybe even slighter lower) but he got chances and his all round play was good. If he plays like this all season he will score goals and contribute well. Not the best debut but show signs than he should be a decent signing. Other areas of the pitch are more concerning (both wings for a start).

The team needs to learn to play through the centre of the pitch off of him, both into his feet as a target man, and utilizing his runs in behind and smart movement off the shoulder of CBs.

Trust the striker and build up thru the middle. Learn to play inside-out rather than the constant plan of outside-in.

Playing with Richarlison and/or Son (who played like Kyogo) up top all season, neither of whom can hold up the ball or play one-twos, has done serious damage to Ange’s confidence in our central build up play.

Solanke had a decent game, yes - but for £65m, that's the quality one should expect.
He managed to get into dangerous position ....but he also missed 2 very big chances, both times straight that the goalkeeper in situations where it would have been rather "easy" to have placed the ball away from the goalie.
I rather see a player miss the goal (by few centimeters) than placing it straight at the goalies body.
But it's his first EPL game for Spurs, so I am optimistic that he'll start scoring.

Needs a goal to take the pressure off and tbh I'm not super convinced that will happen currently.

Wasn't a massive fan of his signing to begin with and little last night changes that.

Difficult to judge a centre forward with wingers like last night but he should have scored at least one

Hopefully he’ll get better service and start knocking them in

Actually thought he was pretty decent last night, could of done a bit better with couple of the chances maybe, but his link up play was good and just his presence alone I thought helped us more so than when son or Richie start through the middle.
