Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Haaland would've scored 0 for us today. Criticize him once he's had some decent service.
Oh so when Son or Richarlison doesn't score or assist it's because they're shit

But when Solanke doesn't do shit it's because of the other players around him?

What kind of logic is that?

Whoevery plays #9 will get ZERO service because we never addressed the problems we needed to address

We never needed another striker - Son is one of the best finishers in Europe and Richey was that physical presence that could come in when needed

We never needed a 65 million bang average striker

Who the hell are you arguing with, I didn't say either Son or Richarlison are shit. Richy cannot stay fit which is a different problem.

Bournemouth got decent service from out wide into him. The moment we start to do that he'll score goals. He wasn't the signing we all wanted but that's what happens when you don't qualify for the Champions League. You don't attract the best players. But people need to remind themselves that he's played two games for us so far. There's been better players than Solanke who haven't set the world on fire at the beginning of their career at a new club.

I get what you are saying but Chelsea, Woolwich and Man United seem to manage attracting players without Champions League Football.

It's a massive draw but it's not the be all and end all. Money is and always was.

Don't want to keep off the topic just wonder how many trophies those clubs won while we finished above them over the last number of years ,we couldn't even win one with a good side ,so annoying.

Yes, but those clubs attracted players without it.
It’s worth noting that Woolwich, Chelsea, and United are just bigger names.

Take 10 years ago, the current group of players were youth players and probably admiring the best teams in the world. I doubt any of them considered Tottenham as one of those teams. They probably chose another team and laughed at Tottenham because mocking rivals is what culture seems like nowadays.

Feeding off scraps again because we couldn't be bothered to bring in another competent attacking mid/wide player.

If we were low on money (which I doubt) you would have thought Ange would have said "Archie Gray looks good mate but let's use that 35m and add a bit more to get that attacking player we desperately need mate".

unfortunately he didn't say that and he wanted another young midfield prospect when we already signed Bergvall , we have Devine who looks absolutely ready to be given a chance and Sarr is still young.

Like I said it's a ripple effect that Ange doesn't fucking get. "Yeh mate Solanke is who I want mate" but doesn't get that not giving him the necessary supply line makes him look shit. That's why when the majority were slagging off Richi I continuously said how impressive the numbers he's putting up are.

Can’t really judge him yet. All I would say is we concede straight after he was subbed off.

Games like Saturday against Brentford is where he has to be scoring. But then again, our wingers have to not be utter dog shit and try and actually pick him out.

I’m sure he does. Maybe he had too much faith in the recruitment department and levy. We were linked for so long with Eze and Neto and then that doue yet all he got was some kid from Burnley who would have been way down the list (despite what he says) and who is now injured. It’s pretty obvious we let him down with transfers this summer in those areas if we join the dots.

we let him down?

He signed off on everyone. It's already been confirmed we didn't even make a bid or register any meaningful interest in Eze and that's probably because Ange vetoed that. Neto yep I believe was the one Ange wanted as first choice but can you blame the club for not paying 50m plus on someone with that injury record?

It's clear from his comments he wanted everyone we signed. He specifically stated he wanted the young players brought in and he wanted Werner loan renewed.

Of course he did, imagine how shit the alternatives were!

You know how it works. Managers are given a list of players for a position they want and they pick one of them, then when we fuck up getting them (Neto), they decide to go somewhere else (doue) you’re left with the third or fourth on the list.

What did you want instead, another summer of signing nobody because the options the manager is given are awful? This happens to every manager of ours because we just don’t want to pay what it takes to get the very best players.

I have faith in big Dom, I think he is going to come good - also helps out a lot defensively which we have missed since Kane went, I think he opens his scoring against Brentford weekend then once he gets that monkey off his back we will be good!

I thought this was because Palace reportedly wanted the whole fee up front - which is why, in my opinion, no club registered an interest in him.

No that's false. Steve Parish has since said no club even negotiated or asked about Eze in the summer meaning we (or anyone else for that matter) were not in a position to know what Palace actually wanted or if they actually did want all the money upfront.
