Fucking hell

So, he's scored 25 goals in his last two seasons, shown consistent improvement and actually tripled his output, but there's still doubts?

Would there have been this much of a debate if he had say, split that 25 goals fairly evenly over the two seasons?

Is 13 and 12 goal seasons better than a 6 and a 19 in the eyes of people who love to constantly bring up older seasons?

Nah, actually both of you are misinterpreting the context.

The fact that player has not started part of the EPL games is not even close to being an excuse.
It is a sign that he was deemed not worth to start the game. This is reflection of his quality in poorest possible way, not make him look better.

Nothing changes fact that he is 27yo striker who has 29 goals scored in Premier League.
This is extremely poor.

All we can hope that in future this number gets much-much better.
I personally am rather among sceptics, but he is Spurs player now and I wish him all the best of luck and hundreds of goals in EPL going forward.

Here's some more context (mostly about the striker market), but also the irony of who people do or don't rate:

Lots of people here wanted to blow the same amount of dosh (or likely even more!) on Gykores; who at 26 has only had 1 great season in Portugal (a lesser league than the EPL!) and before that was chugging around at Coventry & Swansea without much fanfair (having been dumped by Brighton). On paper that's even less convincing than Solanke!

More? .....Toney has only had one big season in the EPL. A player who has visible baggage and evidently wants a fucking huge salary to convince him he'd rather not leave on a free next season (whereupon his wage demands will only be consolidated further).

The Mexican guy from the dutch league? ........Zero top league track record.

Lastly; Osimhen........ For all his hype and star power nobody has managed to prize him out of Napoli; or at least has been prepared to pay the kings ransom it obviously requires in fee (and wages) to get the job done.

....And to buy Isak from Newcastle is/was pie in the sky nonsense.

In light of the above; peeps are welcome to throw up any other other names.

I think we should at least give Solanke a chance.
I'm not thrilled with the appointment, especially at that ridiculous price. Once again, I'm disappointed at Ange's choice of player.
I worry about him a lot. Especially his attitude to defence.

Please, we are Spurs fans. We don't use the "d" word. Out score, out last, entertain. That's the ticket.

100% agree, from Kane to Solanke is no match. But he is our player now, £65m or £5m is irrelevant to us. I am totally behind him, expect 20 plus PL goals and 10 plus cup goals.

Fucking hell.

He scored 19 goals last season in an attacking team, which has worse players than we have.

He spends 90% of his time and touches in the box, something we lacked last year.

He hasn't even kicked a ball for us and people are pissing their pants.

Is he worth £65m? Who fucking knows. But it's Levy backing the manager, something everyone cries to happen.

In theory it's a brilliant signing. It's just not a "big-name" one.

Just looked. DS is 20-1 for PL golden boot.
£25 bet put on tomorrow ( all proceeds to the food bank if he pulls it off. If he don't win I'll give the pony to them)
He will be on the end of many crosses and score a fuckton.
Pressures on now boy. Do your thing
