I am unsure if you can give a loaned out player's number away while out on loan. They are still technically our players after all.
When Perisic came in we had Rodon switch numbers before we sent him out on loan. So 14 was available for Ivan.
I'd say it wouldn't matter unless they've been registered for the season, with how many players get loan-to-bought nowadays I think there'd have to be cases of that, I'm sure someone will take 5 too.
Also note that Gil hasn't worn 11 this season. That might also make a difference.
